Post by Ace 1 December 26th 2017, 10:18 am

I want to keep my current forum up and running, but I want to save the entire current state to another forum address.

Is there an easy way to accomplish this? Or will I have to resort to taking every script and every template and moving it to a new domain? Thank you.

(I want the themes, css, js, etc. sent to a new url)

Hello,

For the theme it is easy, you can just export the theme then import theme to the new forum. This should also bring over any scripts related to the theme, though from my experience it may miss a couple that you will have to add manually.

For any scripts it misses plus any posts or anything like that, you will have to manually do those.

I am not sure, I believe anything that is crucial to the theme of the forum will get transferred but I am not sure. I only know it does some codes cause I exported and imported my forum theme to my test forum so that I can test stuff better and it moved over all images and a little bit of the css I think. I don't remmeber that well, it was 2 years ago now. If worst comes to worst you may have just manually update templates and add any javascript/css codes in manually. I can only tell you all images and stuff like that related to the theme get moved over.

when making a theme backup it will only copy the basic stuff the basic theme and all of your CSS files and that is it.

The system will not backup your Templates in any way.

In the templates system you have a save button that looks like this >> you click that and it will save the codes to your computer then you can copy and paste them in your new forum you will have to do that to each templates you have made a change to.

There is no easy way to save the templates and HTML pages Sorry.
