Gallery Abberation
Hello
Some of my members are reporting issues with our gallery. They upload an image and it shows in their gallery as a thumbnail but when you click on the thumbnail to enlarge it, you are taken to a totally different image, one that does not belong to the member and is in fact, not even a picture saved in the forums gallery. Here is a copy of a message from one of my members regarding the issue, the first image is hers, the second one - we have no idea where it has come from
It does not effect all images, just random ones. Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

Re: Gallery Abberation
Question: Are these the links from the gallery?
When I click the images, it loads an image host provider's page.

Re: Gallery Abberation
Here is a link to the gallery album pictured above - if you look at the 3rd photograph from the left you will see a thing that says 'spring' img 0033
http://www.quilterslastresort.com/gallery/Personal-album-of-TxMaryQuilts-cat_u40.htm
if you click on the photo itself to bring up the full size image, you will find it brings up another photo, one that does not belong to the poster or the forum. It is not the same image and I have no idea where it comes from

Re: Gallery Abberation
I have another two questions
I have been removing photos from the forum gallery albums to free up space. It shows us as having 1308 pictures, I have counted the gallery myself 3 times and we only have 959 photos left so why is it different? I logged out and back in and its still showing the same amount. Our servimg acct only has 1 photo in it.
gifs upload
If I look at Storage Used By Albums, for example it shows the highlighted Gimpy Cat album contains 5 images and is using 0% storage space
But when you look at the Storage Use By Members section below, it says the Gimpy Cat has 88 photos and is using 4% of the storage space - why are these different? The gallery album only has 5 photographs in it.
My second question is - Can I delete the backup gallery folder? Is the backup gallery folder using storage space too?
Each time I delete photos from an album I get a message saying "Picture has been moved to the backup folder"
If its using storage space I would like to empty it, if I can empty it, where do I find it and how do I do it?
Thank you in advance for your help

You still have it where guests can not see the gallery.
For the other issue, try resyning your forum.
AP > General > Forum > Configuration
Scroll all the way to the bottom.

Re: Gallery Abberation
i can see the gallery as a quest and i can see the problem with that picture
the others seem ok when i upload them ..
did you try to delete it and reload it as a test to check if the issue insists?
did you ask that member if she/he has deleted this image for her/his personal (servimg or another provider) folder?
also check the How to use the Gallery

Re: Gallery Abberation
I believe she did delete and reload the image, same thing. Its been happening randomly for a while now, other members have the same issue. Image # 002 (second from the left, top row) takes you to a photo of ceramic wall tiles. A number of the images in that album bring up the tile photo. It is just random, can go sometime without it occurring and then it happens again. Its not just one member, its multiple members. I have been unable to get it to do it myself, I have uploaded photos to members albums and not had the issue.
I had a copy of the photo you looked at so I just deleted the gallery album one and then uploaded it again. When I click on it now in the gallery I can see the correct image. Can you try it and see if it works for you? I will have to get the members to access their servimg accts - they use the same password as the forum from memory? Automatically sets up a servimg acct with same password when they open an acct? If someone has changed their acct password over time, will that also change the servimg password?
Thanks for the "how to" link, I will look over it and see if anything has changed since I set it up. Thanks for helping

Re: Gallery Abberation
Ok thanks for checking that for me, I will ask my members to delete images (wish me luck, most of them are non technically minded older ladies!) Im not having issues here, every single time I type or use the arrow keys black boxes are appearing all over the screen, blocking what I can see, they move around with every keystroke. They bounce all over the place and pop up here and there. Its not happening on any other site, only forumotion, making it virtually impossible to use the forum here. I will try back later, again, thank you for helping
These are the black boxes, they vary in size that I see when typing, there are a lot more than I captured in this

Re: Gallery Abberation
Thank you Skouliki
SLGray, yes the photos being different occurs on many members devices, phones, laptops, ipads. Its not restricted to one member or device. I am going to contact them today and try and get someone to delete the images from their servimg acct as suggested and then reload them and see if that fixes the error. I will let you know what happens as soon as I know, thanks
