This hasn't been answered bwi I am facing the same issue now.
What is the purpose of the "Move Selection to Profile" button?
What does it do, exactly, and where are the messages moved?

They are moved to your visitor message tab if you have it activated.

It is meant to be the other way: if you don't like a visitor message you can simply hide it in there Smile
