Description of problem

We already activate to use special Domain name on 06 Dec 2017. But When I try to load forums.freesbc.com from any browser I see freesbc.yetkinforum.com on the screen. I checked from Admin menu and can see Domain name is set to https://forums.freesbc.com.

Also when I checked credit management history from admin menu I see 3 transaction made it before but none of them is related with domain name. I am %100 sure we activated special domain name present on 6 Dec 2017 for 1 year. With your new package policy you changed our transaction. It is not fair. Please solve it asap!!!

Solved Re: Forum address is wrong

Post by brandon_g Thu 7 Jun - 8:18

The Godfather wrote:Hello,

Since the implementation of the packages, a custom domain such as a CNAME are reserved for forums that have acquired an Advanced or Premium package. Until today we tolerated some exceptions having kept domains out of packages. However, we can no longer maintain two-speed forums which requires adapting all our developments to the various existing exceptions...

Therefore, if a forum is in a free package, a redirection is made to its base URL. In other words, in a free package, even if the forum has somehow kept a custom domain name or a CNAME, it will still be the basic forum url that will respond.

If the admin wants to use the forum with a custom domain or a CNAME as main address, it must be in an Advanced or Premium active package.

Thank you for your understanding

Hello,

A couple days ago, it was decided to make it so anyone with a cname will need to get either advanced package or premium package. This is something that will not be undone, we apologize for the inconvience.

-Brandon

Did you buy the domain name through Forumotion? If that is the case then above doesn't apply and the domain name is good for a year regardless. The above applies only to domain names purchased outside of our service using cname re direction.

P.s Did you already purchase a package? If so, which one?

We have our domain name and just forwarded to you with cname. But when we bought domain name from credits management section you did not give any warning if you change your packages that will not be used. This is not fair. We paid for one year and you need to put it back.

I dont understand what you mean? The only way to buy a domain name through credits management is to purchase it through Forumotion, which does not require a cname redirection.

Do you have an active package right now?

What you paid 2000 for was to remove ads, not for a domain name.

If you buy a domain name through us, you dont need to have an active package for the whole year to keep it, however, if you wish to use a cname, you do.

Your forum is currently set to the free package, which is why your cname is no longer working. You need either the advanced or premium package (one that is active), if you want your cname to work.

We know why we paid for 2000 credit and I am %100 sure it was not for remove ads. If you saying we did not buy our domain name tell me why it show our original domain name under credits management domain name section. check the attachment ; https://i.servimg.com/u/f10/19/83/85/67/forums13.png

If you look at your history (which you provided a screenshot of), it clearly says ad removal, no where does it mention a domain name. It might show that cause your domain name is still pointing to your forumotion forum.

P.s You also can not 'buy' a domain name through our service that you already own, you can only set up a cname redirection (which is done in ACP-->General-->Forum Address), which until a couple months ago you did not need to pay for.
