Solved Registration Glitch?

Post by CindaLove July 6th 2018, 1:04 am

Recently, there has been issues on my forum with new registers automatically registering despite new accounts activation being set to Admin and I just receive an email stating there is a new member. It happened a few times last year and it also happened once back in May, and just thirty minutes ago I received an email stating that a new member had registered. I clicked on the profile link in the email but the member isn't listed as a registered member. Their name is listed in the inactive members and I can easily activate it but by now I'm suspicious that it could be a hacker or spammer. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Hello,

Have you made sure activation for people registering in the topic it app is disabled? You can do this by going to ACP-->Modules-->Topic It configuration .

I just tested the registration page and it seems to be working normally and displaying the correct message: Registration Glitch? Screen12.

Are you sure the accounts are actually being activated?

Also you can delete the account I just made as I simply wanted to test the registration page.

Solved Re: Registration Glitch?

I have discovered the problem. I have an email forwarding service and it has only been sending me the registration email because outlook has been sending the activation email to junk. Sometimes Outlook junks all my emails and I have to go in and reset everything. Feeling silly for not digging deeper first... Embarassed
