Chat for private conversations?

In addition to the existing chat box, can a free forum be set up by some toolbar or other chat for private conversations

No sorry we do not host private conversations other then PM systems

You can get coding for a shoutbox/chatbox that offers it.  You can add the coding to your forum.  Are you referring to direct messages like on Twitter?

If you want a chatbox that you can put in your toolbar you will probably need to search Forumotion for someone who may have posted something like that but the code may or may not work. There is a default chatbox you can use that Forumotion provides but it isn't in the toolbar by default. It is just placed either at the top of the forum page or at the bottom, you choose where it is placed.

You can get custom code to move it to other places but that depends on your forum software and if people are willing to code it for you or share theirs.

That will add your chat box to your toolbar but the chat will be open to all your members No one on one.

The only real way to talk so no one can see it is by sending a private message (PM) to that one member.
