No post or reply button
Greetings,
I'm a member of Sugah's place here on forumotion and a couple of days ago I ran into a problem. I've spoken with a couple of moderators about it and have been unable to rectify the problem I'm having. Our forum owner has been MIA for some time so haven't been able to speak with her about it. The other day I got a email saying I had a new private message so I went to the site and instead of it being in the normal 'orange'/peachy color it was all in greyscale. In the private messages I was able to read the member's message but there was no reply button. I went to the main forum and tried to post but there was no post or reply buttons either. I did clear my cache for that site but it had no bearing on the issue, I loaded MS Edge browser and went to the site and it too was all in greyscale and no buttons to reply or post with. I'm at a complete loss as to what to try. Both of the moderators I spoke with through facebook said they weren't experiencing a problem like this. The loading of the site seems to take an extended amount of time as well. Thank you for any help you can give!

Re: No post or reply button
Hello this sounds like a browser problem or a problem with your computer.
Have you gave some other browser a try and see if you get the same problem ?
also try and clear your browser cache and cookies and see if that works.

Yes, I cleared the cache/cookies for that forum and I also used MS Edge browser to test if it was just something weird with Chrome. Both give the same problem.
Re: No post or reply button
Do you mind sending me a PM with your Username password and url of the forum so i can run some tests?
If you don't mind then make sure you post them in a PM not in this public forum.

Re: No post or reply button
come to think of it do you have a ad's blocker installed on your browsers ?
Re: No post or reply button
Also you are using anything kind of privacy settings like no third-party trackers or cookies? If yes, it could cause this if you have the settings set very high.

Good afternoon, I am not running any ad blockers nor any kind of privacy settings that would do that. This virtually happened over night. One day it was fine, then a couple of days later and *splat*. I'm not 100% comfortable about sharing my account info like that, let me clear it with one of the mods first. And if they give me a go ahead I will send it in a PM. Thanks for trying to help resolve this.

This is happening in private and in the regular forum for that site. While waiting to hear from the mods about sharing my login info, I decided to check my cell phone and accessed the site. It works fine on my cell phone...Just not Chrome or MS Edge on my computer...I was going to try to create a new account and see if it happened to it as well, but new accounts have to be approved by the admin of the site and unfortunately she has been MIA for quite some time.
Edit:
I decided to download and install firefox and ran it and was able to access the site fully, being able to reply in private messages and post in the forums...still no clue what is up with Chrome or Edge...
Re: No post or reply button
Sadly it sounds like a browser problem and we can not help you with that as it's your computer that has the problem.
My advice would be to delete the browsers you have keeping firefox and then reset your computer then install it again from fresh.
Other that that we can not help you any more as it has nothing to do with our systems

Well I thought it was, but I just checked and it wasn't, so I updated it and relaunched and still no joy. I might try Ape's suggestion about removing Chrome and then reinstall it...It's just so weird that it breaks like that. Thanks!
Re: No post or reply button
There has been issues with Chrome for many years. It is something that has to be fixed on their side. The issues before had to do with the administration panel.

Re: No post or reply button
It is possible they are caching the site from the point where we had server issues. Suprised that clearing cache and cookies didn't solve that though.
Certainly seems like a browser issue if Firefox is fine.
