Recieving spam through the Report Abuse function
Hi!
I wrote this topic back in February, regarding receiving spam-messages through the "Report Abuse" function on our forum: Possible bot using the Report Abuse function
In that thread I was told that the function can't be disabled, so I'm aware of this.
However, we (admins on https://numoori.swedishforum.net/ ) have since then received multiple new spam-messages through this function. We've gotten two new ones today, within hours of one another. It's very obviously spam, and not someone trying to get in contact with us about the forum.
Since we can't disable the report abuse function, is there any way to at least filter for this kind of spam?
Thanks for your help!

Re: Recieving spam through the Report Abuse function
Hello
it might be more helpful if the abuses reported came with the ip of those reporting them ...but right now iam afraid you can not do anything, my only advice is just to ignore them since its spam and just move them to the done reports
if I am not mistaken the abuse function is one of those things that Forumotion is required to have on forums under French law

@Mihai Not a problem Please remember all Footer links if not removed by Credits should not be removed it's our TOS and any footer links left in the footer when removed by Credits are there by Law.
My advice is to remove the post made on your support forum as this is breaking our TOS rules.

Re: Recieving spam through the Report Abuse function
Hi! Thanks for your replies, sorry I forgot to write back earlier.
It's very understandable that the function can't be disabled due to law requirements.
I think what @skouliki suggested earlier about getting the IP of the ones making the reports would be helpful. That way admins could perhaps block spammers from abusing the function. I assume this isn't possible at the moment, but it could maybe be of interest for the future, should more sites start receiving spam this way.
Thanks again for your help and patience!
I'll mark this as solved~
