Deletion of locked topics
Hello guys.
So recently I found an old forum (which is still working and people use it) and I found some of my 2015 posts which are very cringe. I was 12 years old in 2015. Anyways...
I contacted one of the forum administrators asking to delete those topics/posts! There are 4 of them.
They said no as ''we don't delete forum posts on request''.
I tried looking at GDRP but found out it's only for companies n such lol so yeah.
Is there any way I can make those topics/posts to be deleted? Is there any law or something?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: Forgot to mention that those topics are locked and I can't delete them.

Re: Deletion of locked topics
Hello, if those topics do not contain any sensitive data of yours such as photos, documents of idenificacion, or any information very personal, the administrator, has no obligation to remove the content, but if he has the obligation to remove your nick from that forum if you request it, leaving the content written with the nick, guest, your nickname would no longer come out as an author. If he does not do this, then contact the staff of this forum by private message, to manage that removal through Forumotion
Re: Deletion of locked topics
Hello,
Just to be clear, an admin has no obligation to remove a nick, because it's not a personal data (except for example for artists better known under their nick name than on their real name). As long as the nick cannot allow us to identify its owner, there is no obligation.
ECC9 would not be a personal data.
But we are forced to delete account on request (and there is still an exception here, a litigation between user and forum).

That's what I meant, to delete the account, I did not explain it correctly
Thank you @Neptune-
Re: Deletion of locked topics
Does my country counts as personal info? For me it is at least.

Re: Deletion of locked topics
No, because that info cannot allow us to identify you.
This link explains you what is personal data.
-> What is personal data ?
No matter where you live, if the forum is hosted by Forumotion, the laws applied will be french laws

Re: Deletion of locked topics
If you have asked your founder to remove your posts and he says no then sadly there is nothing you or we can do about it. The only thing that the law says is if you have your real name address or a phone number then this is classed at personal data and that must be removed as none of that is in your posts then there is nothing you can do about it sorry.
If you really Don't want this data linked to your forum name you can delete your account on that forum and it will be come guest This will also remove your Email address and any data saved by the system but your posts will still be there.
If this is something you would like to do send me a PM and I will help you
Regards.
