In progress Registration problem

Post by JennyorAlice Mon Jan 09, 2023 9:22 pm

I've had someone bring to my attention that there was a problem with the captcha in the registration process. I'm guessing this person tried to sign up on my forum because they said, "Your registration captcha is quite annoying and doesn't seem to work, so that could deter people from signing up. Just a heads up."

I'm not really sure what could be causing this? Is there any thing that can disrupt the registration process like that?

Hi @JennyorAlice Thank you for your report.

I ran a test on your forum and my own and i am not having any problems.

I am guessing this person is thinking you must only hit 3 images and then that will be it.
Sadly to make it harder for bots and spam bots to make account's on your forum the system is set to make you click on 6 or to 8 images before it will let you make the account. This in it's self is 100% normal and can not be changed sorry.

But trust me the system is working as it should.

@Ape Thank you for the report.

I'm not sure what this person was experiencing.

Hello,

I think that user might just hate captcha systems (like 99.99% of people), but unfortunately it is one of the necessary inconveniences in life. That being said, if the user is still having issues with the captcha, would you be able to ask them to elaborate on exactly what the issue is they were having?

As Ape mentioned, most of the time the "issue" with Captcha has to do with people not getting the puzzle correct or something like that.
