2 notifications for one post

when you mention someone on the forum, 2 notifications are often sent - about the answer in the topic and about the mention. tedious to view 2 at once, especially for inexperienced users

You could create a post to explain the notifications if you want to. That way they can read it and understand how they work.

You can by unchecking the boxes in the notification tab in your profile.

Profile (navbar/menu) > Notifications

Two notifications will also appear if your friend writes in a topic and you are not even tagged.

If I understand well your issue, you think that it's a problem that one post generates sometimes two notifications : One for subscription, and one for the tag.

Sadly there is no option to avoid this double notification currently, you have to completely disable one of the two notifications types but it will not depend on if there are two notifications or just one.

Maybe you can post a suggestion here but there is no guarantee that it will be implemented and no ETA.

If you want to highlight tags which tag you, you can try with this JS :
