Members can't edit or delete their posts

Hello

Many members on my forum are telling me that they can no longer edit (or delete) their posts.

I used to have it so that they could edit for up to 30 minutes, but have since removed the timing (at least I think that's what I've done) but they still can't edit or delete.

What am I doing wrong?



I've suggested they try deleting forum cookies, but some say they can no longer see the link to even do that.

The Edit reason is the reason the boxes are greyed out is the box under that is ticked / checked.

Not really sure why this was changed but i know we had a server problem last week so this could be down to a backup we had to do.

As for the Delete you will have to look in your ACP Permissions for each forum that has the problem.

One of my members said that her 'Delete' button is back, but not the 'Edit' button.

It would seem all the sub-forum's have this problem.

Other than removing the number of minutes to edit, I haven't done anything else.

I think they're only testing their most recent in the last few days.
I've adjusted it in the admin panel so they have 30 days to edit.

But they don't seem to have both 'edit' and delete' options at the same time - it's one or the other.

Hmm i ran some test and can't recreate the problem
Did you say you asked the members to clear the browsers ?

Yes, all the usual things...delete forum cookies, clear browsers, try a different browser - but there's at least half a dozen people all reporting the same thing over the past few days.

I now have it set like this, but they still don't have both 'edit' and 'delete':

Are all of them using the same device and browser?  Also are their browsers up to date?

No, it seems a bit random...some of them are using Windows10, but one of them is on Windows11 and another uses a smartphone.
Some of them are using Chrome 128 or 129, and two are using Edge.

It seems to be the same today - edit, but no delete.

eta at 5pm: I haven't adjusted anything in the admin panel, but members are reporting they haven't got edit or delete now

our team can enter your Admin page from our end if they need to but they might need a test account without admin powers to see the problem.

Thank you i have tested this and reported back to @luzz with my finding's

Right now i see no problem with the buttons after making a post as FM staff

I have been told that this maybe now solved on it's own so if you are happy this is now solved for now we can close this topic and i can close the ticket at our end.
