Hover-over "tool tips" for topics
I would like to suggest to the techs and also to the members for consideration of this idea. When viewing a listing of posts on your forum and if you hover your mouse over it's title, it would be a nice addition to have a little pop up bubble or "tool tip" as it's appropriately called that displays a few sentences of what is inside that post. I know the infrastructure for this is already in place on Forumotion's side, we just need to get them to implement it!
Please vote and support this idea, I think we would all appreciate it's function and it's a simple thing for them to make possible too!

Re: Hover-over "tool tips" for topics
This is a feature of vBulletin boards that would be a great addition here.
It would be simple for forumotion to implement -- just a little PHP coding on their part to grab 100 characters or so of the topic (and disabling HTML tags), then use tooltip javascript functions with onmouseover and onmouseout in the topic link. And since forumotion already has tooltip functions (create_title and destroy_title) in the javascript file that's loaded with each board here, there's no need to write new functions!
Or they could go the vBulletin route and display the text via the link's title.

I would like this. While others wouldn't think it would do ForuMotion any good, it would for those members that think a thread is interesting by the title, but when you read the lines it could be about something you didn't expect, so it saves time really

I vote yes, it's true that other forumsoftware like vBulletin and PHPbb have this option. I like it too.

Exactly!
Thanks for the votes everyone.....hope we get more votes for this very simple idea.
Re: Hover-over "tool tips" for topics
In the new 24 updates, there is a thing for your topic's description. We could somehow combine them together and make it so the tool tip is the topic description. That way, the techs would save time and space. Yes.

Re: Hover-over "tool tips" for topics
I like the idea and voted yes. I don't see how it is difficult to simply enlarge or expand the pop up of reading the name of the last thread in the Last Posts column to include a few sentences in that opening paragraph. Maybe the Admin can regulate up to how many characters can be read which are already determined by the Forumotion tech crew. Basically, a limit can be put in place.
I personally like Forumotion to remain unique. I don't want them to become another (or morph into a) vbulletin or whatever forum software exists. I think expanding this pop up as I described in the previous paragraph is in harmony with Forumotion's unique version.

Re: Hover-over "tool tips" for topics
This can already be done with a JS plugin. It would be cool if there was a feature for this though.. +1.
