Video insertion question Empty Video insertion question

Post by Kimmy April 22nd 2015, 3:58 am

I have no trouble inserting You Tube videos, but why can't I insert a video with an embed code?

For example:

<iframe src="http://www.eonline.com/videos/embed/234341" width="610" height="344" frameBorder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

When I post something like that, I get a blank white screen.

Hello,

Do you have embed codes enabled via the acp and profile?

Forgive me, as I am more the organizer, not the computer wiz there.
Under the box where you would write a post, it says:

Information: HTML is ON

So I guess that answer is yes.

I belong to a second forumotion board, and if I copy the video link exactly as it is posted there, and bring it over to this one, it does not work. I get that same blank white screen. That is why I thought it must be a setting on this board.

Thank you.

Hello,

Check if html is embed in the Adminstration Panel... it can say it is on because your profile is set to such, then it will say that, but if html is not set to be allowed via the ACP then it will not go through. It wouldn't go through here either because my guess is the admins of this have it disabled. I have used embed codes on my own forum and they work no problem... so I know it is supported.

You can check this setting in the acp at ACP-->General--> Configuration or if that is not it try ACP-->General-->Messages configuration

If it is already checked, try going now to:
ABC.COM/profile?mode=editprofile&page_profil=preferences

Replace 'ABC.COM' with your forum url, you'll see there this setting:
Code:
Always allow HTML : (Set this to YES)

then try checking now your post with the embed code.
