pop up adverts
I know that there is a google ad bar at the top of the page and my understanding is that it advertises the things that you have previously looked at online.
Nobody on my forum has an issue with this except for one person. She says that she gets a full page ad popping up for only seconds advertising something she has never looked at online before. If she is in the middle of writing a post she says that it wipes out the post she is writing and she has to start again. She maintains that this is only an issue with my forum and does not happen anywhere else. she is not able to take a screen shot as it only appears for seconds and then its gone again.
Can anyone please advise

Re: pop up adverts
Hi @lilacbev,
Have you recommended to this person to do a check on their computer for adware ? To my knowledge, Forumotion does not have any popup adverts.

Hello,
This sounds like it can match either: https://help.forumotion.com/t136121-530-random-redirection-to-ads-apple-store or https://help.forumotion.com/t140314-forum-technical-issues

Re: pop up adverts
I have checked out both of those links and would say that neither apply.
the member says that the add only flashes up for a couple of seconds then it is gone again, but not before it has wiped out the post she was typing. She is not redirected to any other site.
Can anyone else offer any advise please?

Re: pop up adverts
Well as Ange stated earlier, forumotion doesn't do pop up ads, so it is from FM. Do you have any have css or javascripts installed on your forum?

Re: pop up adverts
Is there any chance the user can contact the FM support, forum?
If she has Firefox, i know they also have a user/staff driven support forum she could try contacting.
Has she tried any thing posted here?

Re: pop up adverts
Thanks for all the input peoples.
I don't mess with my forum so nothing on it has changed since I set it up.
This is the only member that is having any issues and no matter how many times I say that it's probably to do with her computer rather than Forumotion, she doesn't believe me.
Well she will just have to put up with.

Re: pop up adverts
Tell her to try google chrome, this has pop up blocker, the member can try clearing their browser cache and cookies and/or the the forum cookies. That is all they can do I am afraid .
Good luck with your forum,
I hope my replies have been helpful at all.
