Colour button problem in chat Box & Editor [ONLY TOPIC]

Description of problem

Hello i have had a number of reports that the Colour system in the chat box is no longer showing.

In its place is a Error page.

I have tested this on 5 other sites and found the same Problem

I would take this as a global problem

Added the Editor aswell to this problem as it looks to be the same problem but only if you use the full color settings on the forum.

Just checked. Using phpBB3. Working fine in AWC (Avacweb), which is a shell around standard FM chat. Reporting this may help the engineers to pinpoint the issue.

No, seems to be only in the chatbox.

This is very strange. My BFF Roxanne told me each time she logs in now a sound from the chatbox is being played, even when going into the CP. The sound shouldn't be loading as she's not logged into chat. This exact sound usually is being triggered and played (JS) when switching between archive and/or reading mode(s). We didn't alter any scripts lately (like the last 2 days or so). So, it may be a clash of JS stuff on those servers. We've never ever encountered something like this before. Very, very odd....

I hope this will be an important lead to the engineers trying to solve the issue(s).

Could staff please make this an [ONLY TOPIC] ? Thank you

Alright, thnx! You want me to post the part of the JS that play(s) the sound(s)? Perhaps there's a further clue in it. I won't be posting the entire AWC JS tho , cuz it's long and it's mine

EDIT: And while staff is celebrating Derri's promotion all hell broke lose just now. I mean, guys, reality just rains on us meanwhile, thanks for noticing. The preview icon is still visible when logged in. I mean like, HUH?? Also, when going into a topic (latest topic), the chat sound plays again. This is very very annoying yk! I think I'm gonna be freaking out in a min !

I'm having the same issue as well with the colour button. I've tried different browsers but all yield the same result. My website is roleplayhetalia.forumotion.com , if that helps.

None of the chat color boxes are working.

Just in the chatbox, our post editor uses the other selector.

I believe the issue is caused by opening the page instead of the usual select option. Since the page does not exist, it does that "return to the index" type of thing. Same thing happens when you try to add a link to the navigation bar without adding

Yeah, well whoever blanked that page needs to put it back, the 'normal' selector is fairly useless in the chatbox as a lot of our members make use of the text input.

It seems that my board is also suffering the same issue.

As you can see, our quick reply is fine. We use a different color picker for it, though, so it would be weird if it were effected.

We're running pretty much like 24 hrs. into this case now. Is there anyone really on it by now? We haven't heard back from you guys and we're into Friday now. I don't like my JS to be all scrambled, shaken & stirred over the weekend, as some of the scripts we're using are very important to us!

This all feels like the last major chatbox overhaul in 2015, when FM were trying to implement stuff into live environments without any testing, at the cost of free forum users and their members ...

So, please, word out in this topic with your update, so I (we) can relax.

At this point in time we don't have any new information for you on this issue. Rest assured, however, that it has been report and that as soon as we get any new information, we will pass this right onto you as soon as possible.

We know this issue is annoying and we apologize for the inconvience. Please just be patient with us while we wait for this issue to be solved .

There's a small update on the issues we're having regarding all of this: sound in chat isn't working at all no more, so it even got worse... So, yeah, the chat sound being played at logging into the forum is gone now, but only due to the fact no sound is being played from chat JS all together.

We even tried updating Java, Quicktime and Flash to the latest and clearing cache but that didn't help us one bit further.

Earlier this night, except for the videos that were linked to a special script I'm using to show multiple YT videos, the single YT vids in the posts weren't showing in addition to that. But strangely that one seems to be OK now.

It feels like someone is deep down messing around with JS, embedded object scripts / IDs, selectors or whatever more, and chat and I really don't like it. Some of the JS is still not functioning as it should.

FYI, I'm on a phpBB3 board, using Win10 Pro 64, Edge and FF 64.

If you are having an issue with a code that is not provided by Forumotion, you need contact the person who created the code.

The problems with Modified Chatboxes is nothing to do with this Thread You need to make a new Post about that or ask the Code maker to help wit other problems.

Also This is not about your JavaScript problems make a new thread.

I'm sorry. I won't start a new topic. I strongly feel it's all related. We didn't change anything on our side and it all started like 2 days ago when the topic starter reported problems with the chatbox. So, I'll better wait and see. And, day three, still doing it. Shouldn't this be a global technical issue considering how many forums are affected?

I'm assuming the technicians are hard at work.

Superhero RPG is, sadly, still suffering the same issue.
