Member post disappears

A couple members have reported recently that their post went away.
What can cause this other than the obvious accidental hitting the X and then confirming deletion.

I've gone over this with the members and this isn't the case.
A couple have just simply gone away.

can i ask you do you have Auto-pruning turned on in your forum ?

if yes then the posts could have been deleted or just moved to some other forum.

I can't find where that feature is, so I don't know.

Sometimes, yes.
I did check pruning and is is toggled off.

There is a limit to the number of messages in a topic.  When it is reached, the topic is split.  Look to see if you have two or three topics with the same title.

No topics are that long

have you done a backup /restore of your forum before this was reported ?

Can you maybe give us a screenshot or example of a post or topic this has happened to?
