notification forum ends in 34 days

I got this notification and a request for me to buy credits. I have had this group since 2017 and enjoy it very much.
I also have a great group of admins, mods, and members . We manage the group very well with the free forum and do not even use the 20 mb storage given. I notice the differences in the advanced pkg is the domain name and more storage.
Does this mean you will close down our group in 34 days just like that if we do not pick a different package. We have the free pkg and I was not aware that it would end. We enjoy this forum very much. Thanks for any help you can give me on this.
Am I required to upgrade

you have a customized domain name with us and you are getting the warning your domain name is about to run out in 34 days.

To keep getting your domain name you will have to buy one of our packages on your ACP then buy your domain name again.

If your domain name was a free one then you may have this offer again but this is not always the case.

Was your domain a free one or was it one you have had to buy?

Don't worry your forum will not close down it will just go back to this address Apspplace.forumotion.com if the domain name is not renewed.

You will just have to send a news letter out to your members telling them to use the old link.

Thanks for the quick response.....I was offered the domain name free of charge so i accepted. I do not wish to upgrade and my other admin are satisfied with the free forum as we don't need much more than that. If I had known I would have to pay for the (free offer of a dot.com address) I would have refused. thanks much for your help in this matter. We love our forumotion group and thank you for your reply.

Here is the screen shot posted in my admin file.
Your domain name will expire in 33 days. You can renew it for one year by going to "Credits management" at the "Misc" tab.
Note that this renewal must be launched manually by the forum founder and can only be done as part of a valid Advanced or Premium package.

The free offer is only for a year.  Also it is not a guarantee each year that you will be offered a free customized domain name.  A customized domain name only last for a year if you purchase it through Forumotion.  That is why you get notifications about renewing it.

Thanks for your help in answering my questions. I will not do anything this time to keep the dot.com name.
I will consider it in the future. I wanted to ask is that an easy change for our group and I wanted to know if we will be able to access. We always have a warning the dot.com addy for our group is not secure and we did not have that issue under forumotion.
I will announce the old addy and pray it is an easy change to make to the old addy.

If you do not have a SSL certificate, your browser will give that warning.

There is no real problem if you have not got a SSL certificate this is not really needed your forum will always be safe.

The SSL certificate is just a way of the browsers saying your site is safe and you will get a little warning when members log in saying this site is not 100% safe but it is.

You have nothing to worry about lots of sites out there don't have a SSL certificate.
Just make a note to all your members that your address will change back to the old one then tell them that if they see a warning the sites not safe it is still safe.
