Okay, thank you for your input. I am aware that AWC was accessible only to LGForum, but I will still make an effort to recover it. The styling for AvacWeb was hosted on LGforum's personal server as well, but I was still able to restore it. (The loss of styling on AvacWeb was the reason for my closure of the site originally, but the styling is back.)brandon_g wrote:Well all I used avacweb for was awc which only lgforum has access to and access to the server its on. Unless there is a way to get awc back up on a different server, I honestly dont care what is done with it. I would say just please dont change it too much.
Re: AvacWeb - Showing you whats possible on Forumotion!
not sure i will be keeping my account with the forum sorry i have way to much going on and stopped using most of the codes used on the forum when it went down.
I hope if you reopen the forum thou I hope you get it back to how it was

I am not worried about the styling, I have my own styling css code for awc on my forum. The thing is when he shut avacweb down I assume he shut his server down as well because right after that awc stopped working at all, the chat button doesnt appear or anything.
If there is any way to recover awc I would be most appericative. As I said previously I only really used awc from avacweb all the other codes on there I havent used nor have a need for. If you re open it I will pop in there sometimes to contribute if I can.
Primarily I would say just re open the site and take it off the construction mode or whatever its set to. Then just kinda maintain it after that. I dont think much else needed to be done on it as the design was nice on it.
Either way I dont really care what happens to the forum itself, what I care about is awc and if that could be restored to start working again I would appericate that.

Re: AvacWeb - Showing you whats possible on Forumotion!
Well that's the thing. LGforum is not actually responsible for the closure of AvacWeb. I am responsible for it. As you know, a great deal of content on AvacWeb relied heavily on content hosted on LGforum's external server. Several months ago, his server stopped working, and the best I can figure is that his lease on it expired. Unfortunately, not only did AWC stop working, but the CSS and JavaScript for the actual AvacWeb forum stopped working as well. The site had become unusable because nothing was working, so I decided to completely shut it down. Since then, I have been able to recover most of the CSS and JavaScript for the forum, but I haven't been able to recover to the AWC code, which means that for the time being, a revival of AWC is not possible. I will continue looking for a way to revive AWC, but for the time being, I am afraid that you are stuck with no AWC at all.brandon_g wrote:I am not worried about the styling, I have my own styling css code for awc on my forum. @David-B I still have the css file of the AWC chat, if that is of any help to you?
Re: AvacWeb - Showing you whats possible on Forumotion!
That would be a major help to me. Out of respect for @LGforum's copyright on AWC, please private message it to me instead of posting it publicly here. If I do manage to successfully piece together AWC, I will allow myself to assume the copyright for it. (Of course, credit for creating it will still go to LGforum.)TonnyKamper wrote:@David-B I still have the css file of the AWC chat, if that is of any help to you?

We only allow forums hosted by Forumotion to be promoted on the support forum. Since you created a forum not hosted by Foruotionm, you really can not update this topic about your forum.

I don't see how your going to re-open the site up with out the creators permission or rights to his creations? Are you looking to restart it up again as a regular forum?

Re: AvacWeb - Showing you whats possible on Forumotion!
Sad to see that the website went down pretty fast after I left and LG when on hiatus. I dedicated a lot of time and effort into a lot of the stuff that was designed there and written. @David-B if you can send me my files that would be wonderful.

Such a shame, You did participate there a lot even when it first started up, i remember, for that i want to say Thank you for your contribution. I'm sure there is a very good reason LG had to leave.

Re: AvacWeb - Showing you whats possible on Forumotion!
Hello, I'm not sure how many will remember me, but I am currently on Avacweb trying to restore and update some favourite/popular codes from many years ago including Avacweb Chat.
Forumotion has changed a lot over the years and it appears a lot of features Avacweb provided for you have now been added. I'm hoping to update myself on a lot of these features and see what new innovative ideas we can come up with for Forumotion.
If anybody wishes to join me on Avacweb and help out then feel free to join me back at: https://avacweb.forumotion.co.uk/

Thanks everyone! It's nice to be remembered and see a few familiar members!
I've still got lots to do on Avacweb of course, but I've taken a moment to provide a very simple first tutorial!
Enjoy!
