Re: Moderator
First of all you need:
-Group "moderators" or "moderator"
-A user
-A rank "Moderators" "moderator"
Now: Go in A.P -then go at ranks and groups - select the user - scroll down and select "special ranks" "moderator" , then go at "groups" and add them at Moderator/Moderators.. ^^

Re: Moderator
Yes, however obviously permissions need to be set and the guides SLGray linked detail how to do them. Making a group called "moderator" and assigning them a rank titled moderator, doesn't actually give them moderator abilities.M.Andrei wrote:First of all you need:

Re: Moderator
Correct Derri, that's what I figured and wanted to know. How does the computer know if YOU made it up that THE GROUP YOU MADE is moderator not only for the forums. Please help!Derri wrote:Yes, however obviously permissions need to be set and the guides SLGray linked detail how to do them. Re: Moderator
Go to ACP --> General --> Categories and Forums --> Click this button next to the forum you want the person to moderate and check the box saying "Moderator" the corresponds with the group you want to be a moderator.
It says this in the guides SLG provided.

Re: Moderator
How do moderators ban members, I understand how to make them moderate the forums. But how can moderators ban members if the computer only knows he moderates forums?Derri wrote:Go to ACP --> General --> Categories and Forums --> Click this button next to the forum you want the person to moderate and check the box saying "Moderator" the corresponds with the group you want to be a moderator.

I'm not entirely sure I understand your question but I'll give it a bash.Deathbringer960 wrote:How do moderators ban members, I understand how to make them moderate the forums. You allow your moderators to ban members. Moderators ban members by visiting their profile and scrolling down until they see something like "Administrate Member" or something like that, I don't know the exact wording. They click on it and then they get taken to a ban page where they set the duration and ban reason.
To disallow moderators to have banning permissions.
Go to ACP --> General --> Security --> Disallow Moderators to Ban --> Yes.

Re: Moderator
Hello,
All moderators can ban members, even if they only moderate one forum. In other words, as long as they moderation powers *somewhere* on the forum then they will be able to ban other members.
Make sure that the security feature is turned off at:
1. Administration Panel (advanced mode)
2. General Tab
3. Security (on the left, under Forum)
4. Select 'Disallow moderators to ban members : No'
