Solved New Member Registration

Post by damned1a March 28th 2014, 9:11 pm

I have received e-mails advising of new members registering on my site, however, they do not appear in the list of members although their profile shows up when clicking the link in the e-mail notification.

I need to authorise new members, but cannot find them on my forum. Am I missing the obvious or do I have a problem?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Solved Re: New Member Registration

I have now received e-mails advising of new members wishing to register, with a link to allow activation.
This has solved the problem, however, is this because all new accounts require Administrator activation?

Cheers,

Hello,

If you have the following set here:
Admin Panel > Users & Groups > User Options:
New accounts activation : User (By-email)
> Save

They should be able to activate their account by e-mail. You wouldn't need to activate them manually. Wink

Thank you for your reply, if I set it up as suggested, (which I fully understand by the way), would I then lose control of authorising accounts? In other word could anyone then register without my agreement?

Many thanks,

Bob.

Yes

Those settings will allow the users to activate their own accounts.
