New Member Registration Problems
Trying to register another account on my forum. I make the account and apparently entered the caption wrong at the end and it has me start over. When I try to, it tells me the username is taken. The account with the username was never registered. That username is not taken, but I cannot use it or try to fix anything. I did not get an e-mail on the entered e-mail either. When I try to log-in with the information of that account, it says it is invalid. How can I fix this problem so I can use that username, or when others accidentally type the wrong caption they can still create their account? I have never seen anything like this!

Re: New Member Registration Problems
try looking for the account in Users and Groups -> Search Users -> Search by last visit.
Or Sychncronize that usersname in forum configuration so that it resets it.

Re: New Member Registration Problems
You could also re name your current account with the username you want by clicking on your profile and hitting 'Adminstrate this profile'.

Re: New Member Registration Problems
Mike, Sychncronizing that usersname in forum configuration did not work. It says an error and that I must enter a valid username. Yet, trying to register that username it says it is taken. It does not show up anywhere though. Is there anything else I can do?
Brandon, that would not help other members with this problem. They would have to wait for me to fix it for them and that would be problematic.

Re: New Member Registration Problems
Basically the username does not exist. It cannot be logged into. It does not show up anywhere. Yet, it says the name is taken when I try to register the account....
Re: New Member Registration Problems
So you want people to create multiple accounts everytime they want to change their username?
Also no one can register again using the same email address, you can only create 1 account per email address.

Re: New Member Registration Problems
Brandon, I am aware of that and no. What I mean is when they make their account, if they have this problem it would be a pain to have to wait for me to fix it (if I even can considering the site thinks the name is taken despite it not showing up anywhere).
No one is even permitted to change their username without reason. It is a roleplay site with the username as the character's name for organization purposes.

Re: New Member Registration Problems
I tried it under a different username, and this time the same thing occurred, only I went through the entire registration process and it never told me the username was taken. It went all the way through and said I have to wait for admin approval, but I do not see where I can approve of the user when it does not show up anywhere. I changed it so it does not require admin approval and tried again. Still nothing. I was able to sycronize the second attempt and it worked, but still found nothing, could not log in, no e-mail, etc. Like it does not exist, but the name is taken and there is no account. No accounts are being made.
Re: New Member Registration Problems
Alright after looking through my settings I somehow fixed it. I had to change around some settings, but it worked and the users finally showed up. Thanks for your times guys.
