It helps members to tag other members by using @username
It gives you the ability to identify and reference people in a post.

Via the administrative panel you can allow or not allow your members to use the option.
Now, go to your administrative panel:

I just turned this feature on on my forum to be able to wish someone a happy birthday and I went under my profile and the checkbox to receive a notification when I get tagged won't let me check it. It's greyed out/not selectable. Any idea why? forum url http://xwlleague.forumotion.com/

Do you mean the box for the toolbsr was grayed out, because the email option is not available for this new option?

The notification for "your username being tagged on a topic" isn't able to be checked for some reason, despite me having them set to on for all members, and I don't know why. It's whited out and not clickable

I don't understand, I set it in the back end and tested it out a couple different ways, but I don't see any difference, and no notifications via toolbar either

I'm curious, before I implement this.  I have the toolbar turned off at the moment. If I activate the toolbar, will all of the members also have to log in to their profile and "opt-in" to activate notifications, or will they be turned on by default?

I have a few members that only have limited internet and log in perhaps monthly. Getting everyone to turn on notifications may be difficult.

Thanks!

The notifications are on by default.

Will the option to enable notifications by email ever be allowed?

The description says:
"- Your profile

You can receive notifications via the toolbar or email: Front>> Profile>> Notifications"

but as pointed out, the option "Your username tagged on a topic" for email has a check box that is disabled in the source.

If it is not available, why have the check-box visible at all?
It is confusing and should be removed if this feature isn't available.

Will it ever be or is there any workaround to enable it?

thanks!

I am still seeing members who do not know how to tag usernames that are not just one word.  Everyone please read the first post again, especially the last part.
