Post by SophieDophs March 5th 2015, 7:55 pm

Hi, I have set up an automated private message to be auto sent to the inbox of new members (giving them a few instructions and forum rules they need to be aware of).

This has worked fine, right until the end of February 2015.

It now appears to have been automatically replaced by forumotion to the following:

Auto Message wrote:Hello [user name]

Welcome on this forum, feel free to invite your facebook friends to participate!

I did not set it to send this message!

I checked in my ACP and my original auto private message is still the default message to be sent, yet it is being overridden by the above message.

Have you set the above as a default for ALL Forums?  How do I override it so that my message gets sent instead?

Thanks.

In my 'PM 'Sent Box', instead of the above, the messages that have been sent recently are:

Do you have Facebook Connect activated?

Not as far as I know, I will have to go back and double check.

Okay, so it is activated:

However, surely this should not override the automated New Member PM?

It overrides I believe if someone does join via Facebook Connect.

Hmm he didn't look like a spambot when I posted.. his post looked like a genuine message related to this topic, did not even look like spam. bwi
