User unable to log in using Google Chrome in iOS 9
One of our members is having issues logging into our forum since upgrading to iOS 9, using Chrome. He enters his log in details and gets a message to say he's entered them successfully, but it then returns him to the homepage and he's been logged out again. This happens on both the mobile and classic versions of the site and he's tried deleting cookies, cache, etc.
Safari is fine, but so far it has occurred on Chrome on the following: iPhone 6 iOS 9.0.0 & iOS 9.0.1 and also on iPhone 6S iOS 9.0.1 & iOS 9.0.2.
He can access the site using Chrome on a pc/laptop, so it's just an iOS issue.
Does anyone have any ideas? I've had a search but can't find any topics on it, none of our other members seem to be using Chrome on iOS, so can't confirm if anyone else is having the same issue.
Thanks

Hi @Brooksy118,
If the user remains logged out without any error after successfully being logged in, it could be a problem related to cookies. Ask the user to check their browser settings and make sure that they're accepting cookies.

Thank you for your reply, I'll ask the user to check and I'll let you know how they get on

I'm seeing the same thing with Chrome
Rarely use it, but have cleared cookies, passwords and history, but no joy

Oddly enough my users problem seems to have resolved itself. I installed Chrome on my iPad to see if I got the same issue, which I didn't, however when I asked him to check a few more things he replied to say it was now working!

I still have the issue.
As I said, I don't use it often, unless I get a report of a problem from one of my members that does.

What is the url to your forum? May you ask your users for a screenshot of the problem? Is their Google Chrome up to date?
Information, is key .

Forum is here http://freeman-cruisers.forumotion.co.uk
There's nothing to screenshot really.
You add your username and password, click login and you're back at the homepage without being logged in. No error, message, no pop-up

Are they using the classic version?

Re: User unable to log in using Google Chrome in iOS 9
Hi @Prof Pat Pending,
The only reason I can think for this is that you're not accepting cookies on the browser you're using. To keep you logged in, Forumotion sets a cookie in the browser. If this cookie is deleted, expires, or fails to be set, you'll be logged out. I'd suggest ensuring that you're accepting cookies by going to Settings > Show advanced settings > Privacy > Content settings
Under "cookies" ensure local data is being set.
If it's not that, I'd recommend doing a clean install of Chrome if possible.

Hi
Yes I'm using the classic version
Chrome is set to accept cookies and save passwords
All cookies, cache, history and saved passwords have been cleared.
As per the title, this is only since ios9 (which just updated again)
Uninstalled the app and reinstalled, still no good
Logged into a vBulletin forum I frequent as a test, it works

It seems to be for my user, but I'm happy to keep this open for Prof Pat Pending to work out their issue if you like. It would be handy to know the outcome for any future issues if they manage to resolve it
Re: User unable to log in using Google Chrome in iOS 9
Rather oddly, today it appears to work.
I tried it at various points over the weekend and it jumped back to the homepage without logging in.
I guess you can mark this as solved now
