Cannot change a user's rank
I wanna change some users' ranks but it won't let me. When I try to do it it says the password and email address didn't match.

Hello,
You do mean ranks and not groups right?
You say there is an error message, may you provide a screenshot of it?

Re: Cannot change a user's rank
Yes I mean a rank. I could remove the user from the group but can't get rid of the rank that I made to go with it.
And I'm not sure the creenshot is much of a help since it's not in english:
It literally says "the passwords you inserted don't match" and "We're sorry the email address you inserted is incorrect"
I didn't even touch those fields.

Re: Cannot change a user's rank
I don't like any other browser and it wasn't like that before. I'd like to fix it for my current browser.
I tried IE and I got it done but I wanna be able to do it on my current broswer, Firefox.

Try this: turn off the option to save passwords and usernames in your browser while in the administration panel.

Firefox Button/Menu > Options > Security
Passwords Section
Firefox Button/Menu > History > Clear Recent History
Check the box for cookies and cache.
P.S. Firefox has been updated to version 42.0.

Go to clear history, in the options, tick 'clear' cache. This should clear your cache in Firefox .

Re: Cannot change a user's rank
Okay, the problem seems to be with the password and username. Why or when did this change? I haven't done anything differently and it used to work just fine before.
I don't have any problems on other websites, just in the admin panel on forumotion

Re: Cannot change a user's rank
when you save your passwords and username it saves your data in a file in your browser
It looks for a small part of files in your site and then links your name and password to that part.
well in your ACP where the names of your members are it has the same file name as the one you use in your main login page so it see's the name file and password file and puts your text in that part of the ACP.
It also looks for the url of your forum to make sure it don't add the text to the wrong forum or site.
This is why it don't add the text to any other site.
So to stop this form happening you need to turn off the saved passwords on your forum and browsers.
What browser are you using ?

Re: Cannot change a user's rank
There has been no change on our end this has been a problem for some time now and it was down to the browser's updating them self.
All new browsers are getting the same problem as they update.
there is nothing we can do to fix this problem other then asking you to remove just the one your having problems with.
You only have to remove the ones that is giving you this problem (FM forum)
These steps apply to Firefox for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

- Select “Security“.
- Select the “Saved Passwords…” button.
- Select the web site you wish to remove in the list.
- For individual site passwords, select the one you wish to delete, then select “Remove“. To clear everything, You can select “Remove All” to delete all saved passwords. Select “Close” when you’re done.
Just click your forum address and remove it then your still have all the others working.
Re: Cannot change a user's rank
I don't have anything on that list How do I add my forum there (to the exceptions list)?

Re: Cannot change a user's rank
When you log in your browser will ask you do you want to save your username and password if you say yes then it will save it there if you say no then it will not save your data. Try adding it and then remove it. That should fix it
