Could not update facebook data.

I try connect my forum with facebook and following this topic
But at the very final step it didn't work, I got this trouble.

Where did this message appear?

I follow the facebook connect instruction (https://help.forumotion.com/t73698-facebook-connect), step by step. and then to the last, after I click save. That message appear.
I asked my friend to try on her computer too but it was the same.
I want my forum can have feature of connecting with facebook, or member can register via their facebook account easily.

I mean in the administration panel or on Facebook?

It happens in the administration panel.

So this happens after you enter the secret ID and the other code?

yes, after I enter the secret code and the id and click save. I happened after I click save.

Are you copying and pasting the codes?  If yes, try entering them manually.

I just tried again and typed the code without copying and paste, but it still didn't work.
still [general error: could not update facebook data]

Could you be adding the wrong codes?

It couldn't be... I tried many times, read the code carefully. I even tried to create one more ap, tried different id/ different secret code, it still didn't work.

Also are you sure that your Facebook app is correctly setup?  You will need to ask for help about the app on Facebook.

Hello,

Did you take the app off of development/testing mode? If not, this is probably why it is not working, you need to make sure the app is public, or else the forum ap wont be able to connect the facebook connect feature to the app correctly.

Did you add your forum to the app?

If you mean this step then I did.

Could you send me a test account to your forum by private message?
