Re: Order a SSL certificate for a custom domain name is now possible
I have a custom domain that works fine with all (https) sites and Forums I visit.
Forumotion appears to be the only server that exhibits the insecure https.// lock, Why is that? Thanks.
I know the problem is being worked on and it will take time to resolve. Are the other sites way ahead with the latest browser security protocol?

You can fix it if you buy the SSL certificate in credits management if you have the option.Norton wrote:I have a custom domain that works fine with all (https) sites and Forums I visit.

Re: Order a SSL certificate for a custom domain name is now possible
A lot of italians have ".forumattivo.it" like original domain, but it isn't in the list of supported domains. Among the supported domains there is " .forumattivo.com" and not "forumattivo.it".
It's more convenient change the original domain or wait for the phase 3?

All other domains not listed will be done in step 3 you have nothing to worry about all domains will be done by the end of the updates.MattiaDes wrote:A lot of italians have ".forumattivo.it" like original domain, but it isn't in the list of supported domains. Forumotion is not the only one. I am a member of some other forums, not hosted by Forumotion, that does not have secure links.Norton wrote:I have a custom domain that works fine with all (https) sites and Forums I visit.

Re: Order a SSL certificate for a custom domain name is now possible
Today the Security certificate has become active in my forum. But I also have one suggestion. What do you think if there was a possibility that instead SECURE see label of the website,( image below)
What do you think about this proposal?
Re: Order a SSL certificate for a custom domain name is now possible
We can't change the way this is showing in your browser we have no power over what is added in that part it's down to the browsers them self
Re: Order a SSL certificate for a custom domain name is now possible
I purchased my domain before this was being done. So do I still need to pay to have the https:// added onto mine?
Re: Order a SSL certificate for a custom domain name is now possible
Hello every member has to pay for this if they want it it will not be added to your domain unless you pay for it.
The domain name can be purchase before the HTTPS address as always then you purchase the HTTPS address as a separate purchase.
Now if you have purchase the HTTP address then buy a Domain then we need to move your HTTPS address to your new domain.

Also this option only works on domain names purchased through Forumotion.

Re: Order a SSL certificate for a custom domain name is now possible
Will purchasing an SSL certificate allwct the look of a forum?
As in will I need to fiddle about in ACP again, as I just finished reworking the forum toModern BB beta
Hope the answer is, 'Pay for the SSL cert and everything is autiomatically done'.
Oh, and thanks for the advice over the last couple of days, Ape. Much appreciated.

Re: Order a SSL certificate for a custom domain name is now possible
It does not change the appearance of the forum. It only changes the http in the links to https (secure). After you purchase the option, you will need to set the options. After you purchase it, a new page of the options for SSL will appear.

Re: Order a SSL certificate for a custom domain name is now possible
Domain names that you purchase through your Forumotion forum's administration panel will work with the SSL certificate option.

So I presume as I bought mine outside of Forumotion I can not buy the certificate? so does that mean |I can buy it from somewhere else?
Re: Order a SSL certificate for a custom domain name is now possible
Hello @FIB
If you got your domain by some other host you need to call them up and ask them how to get the certificate as we can not help you on it as we have no power over your domain sorry.
They should have the tools to add a certificate for you at a cost.
