Dear users,
I am glad to announce you the phase 3 on Forumotion for the purchase of SSL certificate set up. Now, every Forumotion forum without exception can purchase a SSL certificate and switch to HTTPS !
No matter if your forum his hosted on your main domains or not, or if you have a custom domain name or not: you will ALL be able to purchase a SSL certificate and have a secure URL in HTTPS.
Process to purchase a SSL certificate is the same. For more information, read our tutorial.
If you have any issue, don't hesitate to ask on the dedicated support section.
Regards,
Forumotion staff

Is the 500 credit a one time fee for the SSL certificate, or is it yearly like the domain name?

So can anybody please help me with this issue?
I often spend credits on the ads and stuff, so I'm really annoyed that I can't buy the most important thing.
to recap:
I am in founders mode.
I have enough credits (1000+)
I am in the right place misc-> spend credits -> I have STORAGE-ADS-DOMAIN-COPYRIGHT
there is no SSL BUTTON.
Also I can see the SSL thing on the summary but that's it.

This is probably just like that classified ads update, as it is restricted to 'big' communities (English, Spanish etc). A bit frustrating though...

An Italian user haven't the https option. He has an external domain with CNAME.
After activating the day counter marks 363 - It should not report 365?

Re: New: SSL certificates are now available for EVERY Forumotion Forums
if its a external domain name your will have talk to your provider about the address i think.
Re: New: SSL certificates are now available for EVERY Forumotion Forums
the FM domain is giftcards.cyberfreeforum.comAPE wrote:if its a external domain name your will have talk to your provider about the address i think.
So do I have to purchase the SSL through FM or through Namecheap?
Because if I need to purchase through namecheap they tell me this:
The next step after purchasing an SSL certificate is activation. In order to do this, you'll first need to have a CSR code generated on your server by your hosting provider.
Typically, a Certificate Signing Request (or CSR) code is generated upon your request by your hosting company for the website you want to secure with an SSL certificate.
However, you may generate a CSR code yourself (or your hosting company may advise you to do so). In which case, select your web server from the list below and follow the instructions.
cPanel
Apache OpenSSL/ModSSL/Nginx/Heroku
WHM 11.48
Tomcat (using keytool)
Plesk 12
IIS 7
IIS 8
IIS 10
DirectAdmin
Exchange 2007 (PowerShell)
AWS
Synology NAS
Vesta CP
Mac OS X
Sun Java System Web Server 7.x
Webmin
Node.js
Exchange 2013 (EAC)
Exchange 2013 (Shell)
Glassfish
Zimbra

To the Members Who Can Not See the Option: Do you have a domain name that you did not purchase through Forumotion? If yes that could be the reason why you do not see the option yet.

Re: New: SSL certificates are now available for EVERY Forumotion Forums
Domains purchased outside of the forum will not have that option:
- Phase 2: Transition to HTTPS will be possible for forums located on the main Forumotion domains and having a custom domain name acquired via Forumotion.
