New member e-mail address coming up as invalid
Good afternoon,
A new member has contacted me because he cannot register to my forum. Every time he tries, his e-mail address comes back as not being valid. I have tried to circumvent the problem by creating an account with one of my own e-mail addresses, and then switching it over to his e-mail. I got an "invalid e-mail" message when I tried switching the e-mail addresses in the forum control panel.
I know his e-mail is valid because I have contacted him numerous times through it. I think the problem may in part arise from his e-mail address being from a company server (E.g: thisisanexample@forumsareawesome.com) instead of the traditional e-mail carriers such as Hotmail or Yahoo.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Yes it being on a company server is most likely the cause of the issue. Our system has certain safeguards in place to prevent spam and other stuff like it. I believe, as result of this nessecary system, alot company like email addresses wont work on our system (especially if the first part is one word i.e help or admin or something like that). Try asking your member if there is any other non company email address he could use for the account.

Thank you for the response. I have contacted the member in question to see if he has another e-mail address. However, I would really appreciate having a workaround, as I may encounter this problem again in the future. I run a forum for owners/enthusiasts of a classic car brand, and the age demographic for our average member is relatively high. As such, and from my observations, people signing up with professional e-mail addresses is not uncommon. Is there a way to add specific e-mail addresses to an "allowed" list for the spam filter?

Unfortunatelly no, the spam filter is set up serverside and only head office has any control over it.
