Disappearing post counts?
Our community tracks monthly post counts. Last month one of our users had their total post count drop from one month to the next which made no sense. This month a different user had the same thing happen. One of my members is in charge of of this stuff so I'm a bit limited in my direct knowledge but does anyone have an idea of how/why this would occur?
I don't have the TRASH bin set to auto dump anything nor do I notice anything missing that would explain this...and even if some threads went missing that should result in more than one user seeing these results anyway.
Help?

Re: Disappearing post counts?
Hello,
The only way posts count can go down if posts are deleted that were made by that user. There is really no other way to lower it as no one is allowed to modify the field (its controlled through our database/server which only our head office has access to).
I would ask the user(s) involved whether they didnt any posts and/or ask any staff members if they deleted any posts, as this is the only way a post count can go down.

Thanks for the reply Brandon.
Any chance something like this is in play?

To your response, I know these guys very well and there is a zero percent chance they deleted posts and I am the only staff member and I didn't do it. We have been going for 5+ years with no issues and now back to back months we have seen a single user losing posts. There has to be an explanation for how that could happen....right?

Re: Disappearing post counts?
As far as I know deleting posts is the ONLY way to have the post count go down. I havent heard of any other possible explainations in my year and a half as a staff here on the support forum and my nearly 7 years of being an admin of my forumotion forum. So I for one, can't offer any other explaination except that.
