Information: New feature packages on Forumotion

Dear users, We want to offer you a new way to enrich your forums and to improve your members experience , through a redesign of paid features management of our forums. Several reasons motivate us to make this choice : - To solve the technical issues that hinder the overall use of the service. - To guarantee the quality, viability and continuity of the Forumotion service. We will therefore launch a new concept based on feature packages. Pack 1: Free Basic Pack. It is ideal to get started and create your community with all the basic forum features. Pack 2 and 3: Paid complementary packs that will bring more advanced and evolved features to the forum. From The Forumotion Team  This announcement has a purely informative purpose. So, does this means we won't be able to just select one thing (like domain name) and will have to pay for a package deal instead??

No credits will still exist and you can still buy things individually, these are just extra packages so you can choose to buy several things at once all at one yearly price. You can still use credits and buy each thing on its own if you want to.

Edit: I was mistaked apparently, so credits will remain simply to buy the packages. I apologize for the mis understanding. Also note that the packaged may change as they are still in development.

Hey... Hello.

The interesting thing about this news is that we will have a differential on the platform. Forums with different features, and more people wanting these features. The only detail is that with this evolution, users who use the free features will have problems and limits, and may leave the service. Above all, at least in Brazil, if you give away a paid service, the company is obliged to provide support service. This will be an impact for the platform because everyone here is volunteering and help when they can.

I wish good luck to all of the company with this new model, and I hope that the communities will join this news, because the continuation of a service depends this.

No one knows what will be put in place yet as its still getting made and not even tested yet.
I'm sure we will find out when the final things have been made and tested.

The only ones that know what's going to be is the head office that are making this right now.

I certainly hope not since our site has been super active for years, but we can't afford premium services, if you force our hand we may leave and if we do you'll lose one of the most active forums on your servers...

Just don't lock the blog feature behind a paywall, we receive review codes and copies of games and are obligated to provide the publishers and developers who sent us the games a professional quality review, if you force us to have to scramble and pay for a pricey monthly package we'll be quite upset. If it's too expensive and we can't conceivably pay for the premium packages, it might possibly set you up for a lawsuit between yourselves and said publishers and developers and us stuck in the middle so if you do maybe we can work out a deal because we really don't want to be involved in any legal battles, and in our case it would likely be out of our hands.

@SLGray Please relay that message to @The Godfather We really don't want any sort of trouble and have the utmost respect for you guys, sorry if I sound a bit on edge, but us "potentially" losing access to blogging features or any features related to the blogs or being limited in bandwidth with 10k-20k visitors per day could start a legal s**tstorm that none of us would want.

Btw in case you're unsure we wouldn't take you to court unless the publishers or developers force us to. It's late and I'm tired, I just want to make sure that you know that me and my team wouldn't do anything drastic unless we were forced into a corner by outside forces.

Edit: That said a $10 a month or less increase to enable a much more fully-featured blog above and beyond what is currently offered would have us sold. We're a press website so more options would be nice, but please don't break our website's ability to run on mobile or game consoles as that's our target audience.

Hi everyone,

While we still don't know for sure what will and will not be included in packages (it is still being developed), from my understanding so far of what we do know, they are simply turning the features you already had to pay for into packages, most if not all of the free features will remain free. Again we do not know for sure what packages will contain or wont contain, but from what I have heard so far, it seems most if not all free features will remain free.
