Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
Please please forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place.
I'm fairly new to forumotion. Been learning. But there is one thing when posting.
In the group I'm admin in We use headers for some posts.
When going to edit the header all you see is the html, you can also view it in the preview but can't edit there.
As you see in the screenshot below.
My question is..... Is there a way that we can see our work to edit it? It's very hard to edit
the text in html forum.
I know in other forums they do have the option to see html or view it to edit it.
Can anything be done to be able to edit it in view forum?
Thank you for your time. My site is HERE

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
Is the issue that it is not posting the result, but the HTML coding?

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
It posts fine. It's when we go to edit it, it only shows the html
but would like to edit it on what we see not html forum.
like you see in the preview in the screenshot. We'd like to be
able to edit it like that not in html forum. It's hard if we need
to change the text in it when it's only html.
I hope I'm explaining this right.
Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
Is this happening to the whole forum or just a certain section or topic?

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
Just the posts that we put headers in. The headers are made of html
Wish the preview was allowed editing in there as well. lol

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
do you have HTML set up on your profile and in the ACP ?
ACP : = Admin Control Panel
General Tab >> Messages and e-mails >> Configuration >> Allow HTML : YES Save
Members profile:
then in your navbar click profiles then >> Preferences Scroll down to the bottom and set it to always see / use HTML then save

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
Yes they are set to yes.
I can see the html no problem it's when I go to edit the header
I need to edit it in like it is in preview not in html.
I want to be able to see my work not guess it will look right in html
Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
Are you sure that you have it in WYSIWYG mode?

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
I have used the switch editor mode and it still shows the html
not the images
Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
Is there a code or something that will allow to even edit the preview?
Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
yes I am getting the same problem.
I take it you have CSS files and javascripts to make some parts work ?

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
No not that I know of. I've been using that html for headers for last few years.
Not in the forum but in others and they give the option to edit it in html or in the preview
and never had any problems.
Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
It also happens on my forum. You must have some other coding to go with this.

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
This is the basic html before I had images to where it says to add images then I add my text.
- Code:
<div class="tags" style="border: 1px solid Black; padding: 10px;
background-image: url(GLIDDER GIF HERE); text-align: center;"><div
class="tags" style="border: 1px solid Black; padding: 55px;
background-image: url(BACKGROUND HERE); text-align: center;"> <div
class="tags" style="border: 1px solid Black; padding: 10px;
background-image: url(GLIDDER GIF HERE); text-align: center;">
<div class="tags" style="border: 1px solid Black; padding: 25px;
background-image: url(SMALL BACKGROUND HERE); text-align:
center;"><div class="tags" style="border: 1px solid Black;
padding: 10px; background-image: url(GLIDDER GIF HERE); text-align:
center;"><div class="tags" style="border: 1px solid Black;
padding: 10px; background: White; text-align: center;"><div
class="tags" style="border: background: White; text-align:
center;">words go
here</div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
I've used in yuku now aka Tapatalk and in aimoo
all I've ever known it's all html
I have it in posted in my forum. It shows up in the post but to edit it
is the problem. I have to see it like everyone sees it in the post.
The screenshot I posted is the header what it looks like just the editing
I can't see anything but html.
If we could edit in the preview that would solve it all lol

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
Yes it looks to me that you can't edit the code in WYSIWYG mode as it is a HTML code and it will only show your text and codes in WYSIWYG mode.
Sadly I have never posted using HTML code its always been in BBcode

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
@SLGray i get the same thing on my forum but when you click edit on the post and go to add things to the post it shows the code not the tables and other things like it should if it was a BBcode
Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
I believe you are correct, @APE. It only works with BBCode.

Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
That's odd it doesn't show up here because as you see it shows
up when I post it in my forum
Re: Editing post with the use of HTML but in view forum
ok I have seen the problem when you are in the ACP you get the settings in WYSIWYG and you see the boxes fine.
In the main editor this don't work this is down to the use of BBcode.
I am not sure why HTML is not working.
What I can do is make a ticket and find out from our tech team why it is not working in the main Editor and it is on the ACP HTML page settings.
