Forum is extremely slow for some members
I run a PSP graphics forum http://taggersinn.forumotion.co.uk which is understandably quite image heavy.
Several of my members are having problems with the pages loading so slowly that they often give up.
The page/text loads but any images on the posts just seem to take forever to load up, often not loading fully at all.
I haven't added any coding (don't know how) or changed anything else in anyway. Apparently it has been happening for several months but no one thought to say anything before now. There are even members who no longer visit because of the problem.
They are all using different browsers, and are from either Australia or America, the European members seem to be having no such problems.
I can provide an account/password if someone wants to go in and have a look for themselves

Hello,
The problem is that the browser can only render so many images at once, so when you have a large amount on one page, it will take awhile to load, especially if someone has a slower internet connection speed. There is really nothing you can do about this other then limit the amount of images in one post or page.
I did a quick visit on my phone, and images cant be viewed by guests, so the page loaded in like 2 seconds, but the post I viewed did look like it was supposed to have alot of images, which would slow the page loading down alot.

Re: Forum is extremely slow for some members
Thank you for your quick response Brandon, but why would it only be Australian and American members who are having the problem, surely everyone would have the same problem if it was just because its image heavy.
All the members having the problem are also members of several other forumotion groups, who are far busier and have far more images than mine and they dont have the same problem.
I have changed the permissions on this board http://taggersinn.forumotion.co.uk/f12-font-frenzy so images should be viewable now, if you have a moment to have another look and see what difference it makes, I would be most grateful.

I think it has to do with their internet connection as well possibly. As someone with a slower internet connection will take longer for their browser to load each image then someone with a fast internet connection.
I just viewed one of the topics in the section you linked to, and it loaded with no problem in the normal 2 to 5 second range.
You could try also having them clear their cache and cookies to see if that helps make it faster. Sometimes when the cache gets full, browsers have trouble loading content heavy webpages and clearing the cache can solve this. Might be a worth a try.
Whatever the problem is, it has to be either their browser or their internet connection, because the website itself is indeed loading at normal speed.

Your forum does not load slow, can be your internet provider
Re: Forum is extremely slow for some members
Thank you all for your input. I already have some automatic image resizing set, but I may have to make it smaller or change the rules as to how many images are posted at once, or both!
I suspected it was perhaps a regional thing as its only certain countries that appear to have a problem.
I will suggest the clear cache/cookies and see how we go from there.
This is now solved thank you
