You pasted our warning, which is different from the report. The report would have been written by the person who reported the content in the first place.

Just try looking in ACP-->Misc-->Support-->Reported Abuses and see whats there. Beyond that we can do not do anything for you.

If there is no report there then there is nothing more we can do to help you. The only we can do is wait for the godfather to hopefully see this and reply tomorrow.

Just an example of a Copyright infringement (Between hide tags because this support forum too is supposed to be in accordance with Terms Of Service)


This was obvious for that one, but even when the software is free, it remains copyrighted and shouldn't be shared without copyright's owner agreement.

And often, when you receive such an official warning, it's not for just one page but for many or even all content. So it cannot be provided with the warning.

As @SLGray wrote before :

As the founder you need to know what is on your forum. You are responsible for everything on your forum. You just will have to go through everything on your forum.

And i would say, no matter how old is your board. In your case this is just less than 10k posts.

After looking through your site some more I agree with Neptune, half your site could recieve that warning since most of is downloads of games and even books (both of which are copyrighted). Your best bet would be to remove any links to downloads that you don't own the copyright to and stop allowing download files in the future to prevent this.

You must look over your forum and find any link's you may have to other sites and see if the sites have a copyright anywhere on the site if it dose then you must remove them link's on your site

also you  or your members may have posted icon's images on your site that also have copyright to them so you will need to find the site and if your not sure just delete them.

Sadly we do not have any power over this kind of thing this is all done by our head office team.

You could try and Email our team leaving your name phone number and your URL of your forum and a short text saying what your problem is,

I must say thou i have never seen anyone get a reply from our head office telling them what you have done to break our TOS but it's worth a try.

the so called offending link is NOT on the forum ,,, i have checked many times , so it appears you intend to delete the forum despite no evidence of an offense being there to delete . Did Godfather OK this ?

The litigation team is separate from the pro admins, so they dont need approval from TGF. If they see a violation they will act on it.

I can from looking at your forum there are MANY topics that can be in violation of our tos. Many of your topics are download links to programs. If you do not have the copyright for those, that would constitute illegal sharing of copyrighted material.

It iis not referring to just one thing.  It is referring to your whole forum.  There are things on your forum that breaks the Terms of Services.  You need to read the Terms of Service and go through your whole forum.

Honestly, if i were you, i'd start deleting every link to software or books, that you personally don't have permission to post from the owner/creator. I know it's stinks, but it's the only way to avoid losing your forum. As has been stated above numerous times, we are all volunteers to assist with support of your forum issues, when it come to the litigation team, that is totally out of our scope, there is absolutely nothing we can do to help you, for the exception of what has been provided above. You will need to go through each topic and post to check if there is any links to downloads that are copyrighted.  Even if something is offered free and is copyrighted, you can not offer it.  You can post the link to the official page where the free download is, but not a direct download link.

Evey link on our forum is on at least one other fourmanation forum ( Chess2u.com is one of those )strangely that forum is NOT under threat of deletion On two occasions we were politely asked to remove links and did so immediately .. that is 2 in 10 years of posts
90& of ALL links are DEAD links as free sharing sires so not usually keep them after 30 days
The post that was screenshot as offending cannot be found on our forum it does not exist
By your thinking if we deleted 90& of all posts we could still have forum deleted because YOU or any other lodged a unspecified complaint ,
I have repeatedly stated that i will delete any post or active link (fairer that deleting a members post perhaps as few if ant would object to what would be the free promotion
Name a link ANY links YOU think are in breech of rules and i shall delete them ,but asking or demanding i sit and check 10 years of post would take me months but if YOU or anyone can inform me of offending links i will be only to willing to sit and delete them all
As it stands ANY other chess forum can make a complaint and get its competition deleted without giving a specific link and as this complaint was posted on chess2u.com forum BEFORE i was told of it may i politely request your Admin look at the motive behind that PLUS checking THERE for offending links as with respect YOU do appear to be better at that than i am
2 complaints in 10 years seems to be to show we do NOT flout forums rules intentionally,
Also again with respect you seem to be unaware that VERY many commercial engines, books and GUI's are regularly updated and older versions are then free
Yes we so rely on members to abide by rules and as stated we do remove ANYTHING when politely informed it offends or breeches rules

They have CLOSED the complaint and as stated NO such post as shown on the alleged screenshot of it exists
So as any barrister would ask if this was in court ..WHAT is the specific charge ..unless a conspiracy charge a defendant must face a specific date time place offense charge NOT a blanket all encompassing ..on or before November 2019
Case closed SHOULD in all fairness mean end of deletion threat ... should it not ?

Unfortunately, there is no way to get a copy of your forum database...as stated in the Terms of Service under "Data and Security" 

Several systems have been set up to ensure the security of the content. Thus, a backup of the whole data is done everyday. But for any reason, no individual backup or SQL dump, or database will be provided.

i have been extremely polite and nowhere in any terms and conditions does it state anyone can make any unspecific charge against anyone as that would be unreasonable and likely illegal
I have shown willingness to delete ANY offending link YOU have been stating there are very many unspecified links YOU find problamatical buy at no time have you stated ant particulate link you seem to be setting yourself up as an expert on books and engines so please tell me in your expert opinion what specific links to delete and i shall delete the . but do not be so rude as to say very very many are there to your eye without quaffing the statement as that is extremely arrogant of you
litigation states case closed so unless i now what else offends short of deleting EVERY post it is not humanly possible to do as you suggest.. at least not for me and i doubt even you could check every link in every post in less than a lot more time than 10 days and i have been trying to sort this out for the better part of a week

Maybe you do not understand that we can not help since we do not have contact with the litigation team.  There is not a member of that team on the support forum.  The warning messge you got in your AP states what the violations is.  It is up to you to go through your forum and remove the violations.  Also it is up to you to read the Terms of Service and know what is on your forum.

P.S.  If you have seen this on other forums hosted by Forumtion then you can report them.
