Forum connection issues for a few members
Hi
A few of my members are reporting connection/loading issues to my forum.
Some are saying they get these messages:
This site cannot be reached
JillHavernForumoton.net unexpectedly closed the connection
ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED
And others are saying the forum is slow to load when on a desktop computer (it's the same for me too), although the forum loads fine for them when they're using their phone.
This seems to happen when there are lots of images and emojis.
It doesn't seem to matter what browsers they're using.
The only thing I've recently added to the forum is the 'Recycling Notice' javascript code that's on this forum, but some of these problems were reported before that.
I've suggested the usual, delete forum cookies, try another browser etc, and I've also resynched the forum...nothing seems to help.
This all seemed to start the last time Forumotion did some maintenance, so I blame you guys.

Re: Forum connection issues for a few members
A lot of images can cause slow loading since the browser has to render each image one at a time. The ideal way would be to limit it to a certain number per page.
When did this start occuring as well?

hi there is an error
check your javascript for this.. https://www.avacweb.net/like?.. or something like this
The FetchEvent for "https://www.avacweb.net/like?_=1592918531155" resulted in a network error response: an object that was not a Response was passed to respondWith().

Re: Forum connection issues for a few members
What does all that mean skouliki?
Is it a problem with the Recycling Notice?
I've just checked my test forum and it takes just as long to load that as it does my main forum, and there's hardly any images on there...
It does seem to be a javacript of some kind.
With javascripts enabled it takes about 20 seconds for the page to load...with javascripts deactivated it takes about 3 seconds.

Yes, it's this. I've just turned it off.skouliki wrote:hi there is an error

So, this was working fine until forumotion introduced the new like/dislike system.
Now I don't have any like system cos even your new like/dislike system doesn't show up on my forum even with it activated....
eta: sorted it.

Hello @jkh Good to see you again,
Maybe not in the way i would like to be talking to you but hey we are here to help.
have you made any change to the templates of the following ?

viewtopic_body
if Yes then you will need to follow the steps here
https://help.forumotion.com/t159161-discover-the-new-like-and-dislike-system-of-forumotion#1108105
Your problem does seem to come from JavaScripts clashing with our new updates.
Please try and turn all the JavaScripts off and then try and install our new likes system and see if it works.
If yes then we know other codes you have are crashing.

Just an update on the link >> https://www.avacweb.net/like
The server hosting the link is down or not found anymore so this is why the like system you are using is having problems.
