Solved Formotion package up for renewal, but want to change from Annual to Monthly

Post by jkh Wed Oct 07 2020, 10:04

Hi guys, I hope I'm posting this in the correct place this time.

My forumotion package is up for renewal today. Normally I just buy enough credits and do the annual package, but this time I want to do it monthly.

As usual I'm a bit confused - I've got this message in the admin panel telling me I've only got 398 credits and I need 6000...but if I want to pay monthly do I still need to buy 5602 credits to top it up, or will my debit card just be automatically debited for the monthly amount every month?  Confused

It also says the monthly payment is being processed already - so what do I do? Do I still go ahead and buy 5602 credits, or just wait for the monthly payment request to be authorized?  Confused

If I do need to buy 5602 credits then I might aswell just do the annual package again, surely?

First you must wait for the package to expire, then you must not buy credits. Monthly it is done by subscription with PayPal that they pass the charge to you month by month, so you do not need to buy credits for that. But as I said, wait for it to expire the package, totally to do it.

I haven't got a paypal account. Won't forumotion take it from my debit card?

So, because I haven't got a paypal account I've just bought a shed load of credits to pay for the premium package because I wanted to remove the pesky adverts...

BUT

the ads are still showing on the forum anyway.

Waste of 50 odd quid.

Is there a way I can get a refund, cancel the package and just buy enough credits to remove the adverts which is all I wanted in the first place? Or, at least, cancel the package and return all the credits to my account so I can spend them on removing adverts.

By the way, I haven't even yet received an email acknowledgement for the payment I made hours ago.

We don't offer the monthly payment plan on your Debit card it must be paypal only this then comes off your card if you have the card set up to your paypal. As you Don't have paypal you can't do a monthly payment plan Sorry.

As for your refund YES you can get one but you must understand. If you don't have a package you can not remove anything from your forum like
Copyright's,
Our Ad's,
You will not have the package to have a domain name so if you have a domain name it will stop when the pack runs out.

EDIT: when you pay for your package you then have the right to remove the ad's this is at a cost it don't come with the package it only lets you pick to remove the ad's

I'm almost certain that the last time I bought the premium package the ad removal was included...which is why I bought that package.

Is it possible to have the free package but pay for the ads to be removed?

NO sadly when the package system come in to place it stopped the way to remove ad's with a free package.

So sadly you must have at least the Formotion package up for renewal, but want to change from Annual to Monthly 857436672 package to remove ad's from your site.

When you pick your package it then asks you if you would like to remove ad's for members or members and guests.

If this is an renewal then you can do it by clicking on the following.

So I can now do that even though I've already renewed the package? This would be another £20 add-on on top of the £50 I've just paid?

Seems a bit dodgy to me Ape, it has to be said.

I see that last time you had Premium That cost way more then the Advanced package,

If you only wanted to remove Ad's then it would be much better to have the Advanced package The only thing is your have less storage space and news letters.

If you like I could ask our head office to change the package for you then this would help with costs a little.

Advanced package 5260 credits a year with ad's removed for members and guests.

I assume I wouldn't have the 'popular contents' newsletter going out once a month with the advanced package?
---------------------

eta: I've caved in and bought the extra credits to remove the ads. Plus I like the monthly newsletters.

I have to say the new automatic system of buying/spending is much better than it was before. In days of yore I had to wait days to have credits activated with some emails to Head Office.  thumleft

Topic solved...many thanks.   :rose:
