Admin panel usergroups colors
Not sure if this belongs here or in designs. I chose here.
I actually asked part of this question this morning and thought I had it all worked out, but I forgot to ask the question about the colors.
Can each of these people in the user groups show the color associated with their group on their profile and under the avatar. They all need access to the ACP...which they have, but they are not owners, so have other group names. I only want my name red...and theirs colored as shown. They were okay until I moved them in the Star user group with me. Can that be done?
Thanks,
AngelM

Re: Admin panel usergroups colors
What you would need to do essentially is have the actual Administrator group (the one with the star) set as a hidden group, then you make a separate group called Owner with your text color with only you in it. Then they can have admin powers but they will only show up the color of whatever unhidden, colored group they are a member of.
The reason for this is because the color the username is given is determined by the order of precedence of the groups with colors, in your case the actual admin group is 'Owner' and the actual admin group is always the highest precedence since it has the members that have ACP rights. Every other group other than the admin group you can manually determine which group is 'higher' than another by changing their order in the list in the groups page of the admin panel.
Does this make sense?

Re: Admin panel usergroups colors
It made perfect sense and it's all fixed now.
One more question regarding this... is there a way to change regular members colors or are they stuck with the forum color unless I move them all into a group with a certain color?
Thank you so much!

Re: Admin panel usergroups colors
You are correct, members will show up as whatever the default link color is unless you put them all in a group that has a color assigned to it. As far as I know it is not possible to just change member colors with CSS because the forum sees it as just another link if their not in a group. It MIGHT be possible to do with Javascript but I am not really sure. Perhaps @SarkZKalie will know.

Re: Admin panel usergroups colors
If you do want to add everyone to a group to have a color username, you can create a group that has automatic adding by setting the number of posts to zero. Then order this group so that it last or below all the other groups.
Note: If your forum has 1,000 or more members, the minimum of posts is one.
