Popular Contents Newsletter

Once again I am finding that I am not receiving the newsletter .

That occurred to me today . So I went to my AP . Clicked on the See the newsletter "Popular contents" .Which took me to this

That newsletter page .

I cannot seem to access the list . But luckily I copy each nesletter I receive to the newsletter forum page .

Did not come to me via email . And obviously none of the newsletters after Mon 17 Jul 2023 - 20:58

Have not either .

This is concerning . Again . As this has happened before .

How can I access the missing newsletters and prevent this from happening again ?

i repost the answer from our tech team regarding this issue

When you change any templates any new updates made by us to our system will not be installed to your modified template's
so if you don't see the updates then you need to modify the template your self.

Please look at your templates and set it to default templates and see if you get any popular content emails.
If you do then you will need to replace parts of your modified templates to make it work with the changes you have made to your templates.

Is there a particular template that has popular contents in it ? I don't see it .

I clicked force the default templates .

Nothing seemed to change .

The automatic newsletter can contain up to 5 topics, 3 events, 3 publications , and 3 classified ads , from the forum, and depending on what is activated or not...

The topics selected are based on an algorithm taking into account the responses provided and the content of the messages. They are selected only from forums accessible for reading to guests. The events, announcements and publications displayed are respectively the three most recent in each category...

The frequency of sending this automatic newsletter is of the order of one email every two weeks ,
If over one of the 15-day periods the forum has not accumulated enough activity for an automatic newsletter to be completed no email will be sent...

That is understood . As I have received 63 of the 66 newsletters since it's inception . Starting Newsletter: https://www.valleyofthesuncc.com/news/2018-02-18

When in the past . I did not receive the email notification for the newsletter . I could always go to my AP . Click on the full list and post the ones I had not received ( they were all published , but not received ) . As there has never been an issue with not accumating enough activity for an automated newsletter to be completed .

My issues presently are :

Not receiving the email for the newsletter . ( the last 3 issues ) .

And no access to the full list of newsletters for my forum .

Those are my 2 issues .

Clicking on " See the newsletter "Popular contents"" in my AP only takes me to the page of the current newsletter https://www.valleyofthesuncc.com/news . The latest one I did not receive by email . No longer does it show the full list .

No . I haven't used that since I stopped doing my own newsletters in 2016 .

This is what there is there now .



I used to use it for delayed sendings and to view the archives . As you can see it is quite empty now .

The prompt See the newsletter Has always the link to view the past newsletters in my forum . But it only shows the latest newsletter .

As a matter of fact . I would like to know why the archives is empty ?

Are you sure that your forum has enough of the activities for the popular content newsletters?

I'm sure that is way more than enough activity .

My issues presently are :

I was going to ask if the email addresses that you entered in the AP for the image hosting, contact form, etc. are the same as the founder's account email address?

Yes I have checked and double checked . They are the same email .

About a month or so ago . ( about the length of time that I haven't received the newsletter ) . I had trouble logging in on my phone . So I had to change the password .

No change to the email for 10 years now .

Also as I have reported before several times . The newsletter is addressed to an alias account ( That I created at some point ) . Not my username and not the founder . But with the same email .

If you look at my previous posts on this issue . You will see that you have said that does not matter . Even if I delete the alias account . I should still receive the email .

I may have deleted the alias acoount . Or I may not have . There are probably 10 of those accounts just for Forumotion Staff alone .

The founders email remains unchanged .

Some thing changes on your end .

I deleted those users .

I have quoted it in bold this time .

You are not understanding what I am saying . Administraters of the forum ( me ) . Had a link that is a page in my forum that displays every copy of ALL the newsletters .

It was very handy . In that if I were to not receive a newsletter I could get that newsletter from the complete list .

I no longer have access to that page . Therefore I cannot update my list of the newsletters . To include the missed copies .

Luckily I was smart enough to copy these from the list I no longer have access to . So I have most of them .

As you can see from my copy of the list below . I am missing the August newsletters . If I still had access to the list . I could insert them and post them .

The link that used to show all the newsletters does not work any longer . It now only displays the current newsletter . Which means it is not working for me or you . I am the only one that should be able to view that page .

Lol . Not to mention . The newsletter you displayed was new news to me . Again I did not receive any email , notification , push notification that the September 16 isuue was sent out .

Therefore . Both of my issues remain . This is getting very frustrating .

Which has my hotmail email . Which has never been the founders email . I cannot see changing my primary email to the hot mail from the gmail .
Hotmail has all kinds of problems and is not consistent.

What do you suggest ?

Have you gone through the whole AP to see if the correct email address is use in the places that need an email address like contact form, image host, etc.?

Okay I see it is in progress .

I think that my forum believes that the correct founders email address is my hotmail.com .

I have 2 different archives saying that the founders email is my gmail.com . email .

I think I should change something .

As you ask above . 100 % of my sign ins anywhere are my gmail.com . email .

This Forumotion account used to use the hotmail.com . I changed that to my gmail.com sometime ago .

That is how I am able to assign my hotmail.com email address to Forumotion Moderator test accounts . Because it is supposedly not in use .

Yet it is the moderator test accounts with the hotmail.com email that sends me the Popular Contents . Through hotmail.com . Not my gmail.com .

I do not understand this as either way . gmail.com is my only primary email . And hotmail.com is my secondary . Sometimes forwarding hotmail.com to my gmail.com . Not always and not very often . But seems to sometimes forward my Popular Contents from apetest



( as shown above ) . To my gmail.com email .

I now also see that another newletter has been issued . For which I have not received a notification .

Changing the email for for the founder's account on a forum does not change it in the forum utilities.  Maybe change it there and see if the issue is solved.

I don't see the difference .

It seems as though the founders and utilities emails are the same . Neither will allow me to change it to the hotmail.com email . As it is in use by another forum .

My only choice is to keep it as the gmail.com email . And find out why the popular contents do not email to that email .

I never fully developed it . It stood in limbo for many years . I actually forgot all about it . I think from inactivity Forumotion has now closed that forum .

The forum thedeserttour.forumotion.com doesn't exist
Verify the internet address you typed : thedeserttour.forumotion.com,
and try again if there is a mistake.
It is possible that the administrator has chosen to delete it.

Oficiially I do not know .

That could be the reason that hotmail.com email address is still in use .

Maybe you as moderators can look into that ?

You can't have 2 accounts withe the same email address.

Each account must have its own email for safety reasons.

I have never tried to have 2 accounts with the same email . Only myself and all related apps .

If you have 2 forums and you try and use the same Email address it will not work.

Each founder can only use one Email per forum.

If you try and change the Email already used it will tell you you can't use that email address.

My advice is to not keep messing about with the Email address unless you have a problem with the founders account or you was thinking you was hacked.

If you keep making the change to your Email address then you are just making problems for your self.

Email address change:
* If you change a Email address linked to your founders account you MUST always change it in your Forum Utilities.
* You should always make sure your Email address is used or you might find out it has been auto closed by the service provider.
* You should NEVER keep making a change to your Founders email address unless you think you have been hacked or the address was leaked out.
* We have no power over your Email address if you don't get your email's "some emails just don't get to you right away"
Our system may some times get slow this is down to the number of news letters and popular content's Emails being sent out.

I am not sure why you sometimes get the news letters and some you don't this only seams to be a problem to you and no other members.

If it was a problem with our end then others would be posting here as well.

Try and resynchronize your forum once every 3 months.

Attemped that once . But I am fine with the current email " gmail " . Except it doesn't work for " Popular Contents " .

I get all these Forumation responses just fine . And PM's , etc . I don't want to change anything .

I don't and haven't messed with anything . I am waiting for advice from Forumotion .

Please consider that I have been building my Forum for 10 years solid . It is enormous . I am very careful . I know better than to " MESS " with things . Please take my word on that .

If you do not use the older forum, you could delete it.
