I had the same problem with my forums. Logged on an hour ago only to get the message "this forum has no forums"!!!

I've found that going into the admin panel and creating new sub forums restores all the postings and topics from each sub forum. For instance if your forum had 7 sub forums you will need to create 7 new sub forums to restore all the contents. Albeit on the index page of the forums it says that there is 0 topics and 0 posts. Try it for yourself, it should work for you to hopefully.

Ideally though, that backup utilty will be the best thing to do. However I too am finding that I can not log in to do this, even though I know I'm definitely using the correct password. So any help on this please?

My back up work's fine i can log into util , but now my account / pass doens't work for the board, I can tell we are going in the right direction! please some1 post that actully tryed the backup & that it worked

Hey i see what the problem was, in the panic / state i was in, If you are the admin and say you used to dirrefent password's, one for the Site login and the other for the Ulities , when u back up the site your Utilies password will be your login password for the site, i used to diffent one's then tryed the back up.


Worked fine, i think* , BUT if you use the backup feature , your password will be the one that you used to login to the ultilites

-even tho it's clearly stated , i missed that

After the back up the site will be name / pear

I checked under forum/security and it states the following:

Sat 21 Mar 2009 - 18:02 Admin XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX Forum Deleted Forum Doom, Sludge, Stoner has been deleted

I am the admin for the page and certainly did not delete anything......Unable to back up forum using the founders utility, hoping a resolution to the issue comes through shortly. Or at least some sort of official announcement letting us know what the deal is.

This is about the worst service I have ever seen. Obviously forumotion was hacked. I wonder if they are currently hacked as I type this. Because MrMario is just repeating the same useless post.

Most likily one of the servers gave an error and is giving this problem.

I cant do anything besides giving support. The Founder Utilities its problily the only thing that is fixing the problem.

how it looks like is that all have the same problem
all forums are gone

that can only mean thay have some sever problem or

there is a hacker going around and wipeing out all forums, what i don't beleave coz just too many ppl who have this problem and why do it, every one can back-up that forum

last time i looked at my forum was 10pm (germany) and it was all okay

i now backed up and only lost 3 or 4 posts

I've seen forums been backed-up over 1 month back and only lost 50 members or so.

i appreciate your help mr mario and not trying to be arrogant. but the server im connected to must be having issues cause i stay conned=cted for maybe 5 minutes and i lose the forum

I used a different password with my email when i made my site, so the email and pw that i use https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/ with is different from my account name and login for the actully site.

AFTER YOU USE https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/ the pw that you loged into https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/ with become's your Website password

I now have my site back, with everything be losted member's.

So that issue pretty much wraped up. Now if you go to your site and check both log's and it say's you deleted stuff, or some other admin on your website is listed as making action's on the site then that's different. Some1 you trusted screwed you, but if you loged into your site and you had 0 topic's / section's, nothing then follow what mario said and keep in mind that you have to use the pw you used to login https://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/ after you use the backup feature

Seem's there's alot of issue's going on, being "hacked" isn't one of them. I've alway's tryed to be pretty clear with the few post's, I've made. Everyone that need's help on anything should do that same or your problem could get mixed in with other's. hope this helped alil
