In progress new members having problems joining

Post by al of alaska October 7th 2017, 10:36

I have a few friends that tried to join my site but can't get access even after they use confirmation link. I did a new member sign up myself and had the same problem. Hit confirmation link then tried to sign in but couldn't, I had to copy and paste both user name and password from email before it would take. I just joined a few dating sites so I REALLY want to have this solved. lol

I am having a similar issue, our organization uses our forum to communicate with personnel. When I try to add new members it gets to the confirmation page, but the confirmation code fillable area is missing. If you hit "submit" you get an error code that says "We were unable to verify that you were not a spammer, please try again". This same message appears even when I turn off all forms of registration verification. This problem is making it so we can't add new members to our site, please help.

Our forum is: http://centralaidagency.forumotion.net/forum

Thanks!

So the issue is that the verification image is not visible?

Sort of yes, here are screenshots that may be some help. Once you enter the password and hit submit you get this message. The confirmation code has an asterisk, but there is no way to enter anything there. The data entry field appears to be missing.

yes i have just looked at your forum and i see the same problem @London

Now before i can make a report on this i need to know some basic things.

  1. have you added any javascripts to your forum ? If yes try and turn them off and see if the problem still shows.
  2. have you made any changes to the Templates on your forum ? If yes please try and turn them off and see if the problem is still there.
  3. have yo made any changes to your CSS files to do with that part of the system? If yes set it to basic and save your CSS then see if it comes back agai

Thanks for taking a look, to my knowledge none of those things have been modified beyond their regular configuration.

JavaScript = AP > Modules > HTML/JavaScript > JavaScript Management

Templates = AP > Display > Templates

CSS - AP > Display > Colors & Pictures > Colors
CSS Stylesheet Tab

Make sure that you are in advanced mode in the AP.

I tried putting that in the Javascript code management => change Javascript code area, and I made sure that Javascript codes are on, but still it didn't seem to work.

Quick question? Will turning javascript code manager off delete all the ones I've added or will it just disable them? At a later date if i turn it back on again would the javascripts i added still be there & work again?

Hello,

If you turn off javascript it does not delete the scripts, it simply does exactly what it says, turns them off/disables them. To get them to work again all you have to do is turn javascripts back on.

The reason we ask you to turn them off temporarily is so that we can determine if there is a javascript that is causing your problem or not.
