Maintenance on new servers

First topic message reminder :

Brand new servers for better performances

Dear users,

We are going to replace some Forumotion servers, so we can offer you better performances.
This manipulation is harmless for your forums. Only a few slowdowns can be encountered during the process when browsing your forums.

Update : The techs are still working to solve all issues regarding the servers change, please notify me of all remaining bugs/glitches you may encounter, apart from you forum not being accessible.

For people getting Error 500 (Server error) it's most commonly to do with your templates.
The solution is to simply re-publish the template overall_header_new.

Give them time to straighten everything out. I'm able to get on my forum most of the time. When I can't I give it 5-10 minutes then try again.

Is this set of operations going to be an all week end ordeal?
The amount of "server error" Redirects are getting more than a bit annoying.
It's getting to be nearly impossible for my forum members to have a coherent discussion.

we have had many problems and as we have paid for a domain name we would like some answers please, as to when this problem with server change will be sorted..

Sorry to sound rude or annoyed, but we have had no warning and as admins to several members who cant get into the group to chat and have fun and join in games and peoples birthdays, i think this is sadly very annoying..

Forumotion should've atleast contacted admins of forum groups so they knew this was going to happen..AND expecially to those who have PAID for a domain name!!!!!!

I paid for a domain name as well and wish I would have been warned in an e-mail, but oh well. It's for the better of our forums, I just hope it's over soon so everything is running good again. =)

This is really embarrassing. If a server goes down on a weekend, should we all just be "cool" about it cos there is no techs? If you don't have techs there on the weekend, whenever there is a weekend issue, our sites will be down...until Monday?

I have mods and members getting to the end of a post only to have the site crash and they lose all their work. Infuriating.

Very irresponsible. My users are suffering because of this. I'm not pleased at all, not one bit. Forumotion--get your act together.

Only a few slow-downs? Hmm, well for one me and my members are finding it hard to log on, two, if we do log in to the forum, give it five minutes then it automatically logs you out (which is something I really hate, specially when you are typing up a short story or an introduction of sorts) Three, the posting process is really slow - sometimes it gives you the "error in posting" comment. Four, it takes a looooooooooooong time to actually load the page and then the forum and then a sub forum or thread...

So only a few? Ok!

Everyone please wait it out Forumotion can't do anything right now as they don't work on the weekends but will return Monday to fix this issue. We all need to chill out. Please just post your forums url here so that someone can check out your forum.

THIS is STARTING to be a bit much!
With THIS level of error redirects, and seeing comments stating that "Tech" Staff don't "do" Week ends, one is left to wonder WHY this was started on a Friday!

IF Tech. IS currently working on these issues, they REALLY need to keep Founders BETTER informed. The OP here is SORRILY understating the problems which are currently showing themselves!
FFS, it took 35 minutes to be ABLE to get HERE to post THIS COMMENT!

Guys and Gals,

If you cannot access your site, by means that you keep receiving blank pages go and Google up a proxy, and visit your site via a proxy.

Your problems of inability to connect should be cured that way, this is only a temporary fix until Typlo posts an update Wink

We are really sorry for the inconvenience, our tech team is working this weekend especially for this reason, and the slowdowns won't remain for long.

Regarding sending an email to all admins, you must understand that if we sent 100.000+ emails we would be considered as spam, and be simply banned from email servers.

One other news : the update is coming next week, hopefully these 24 new functionalities be a nice gift for all users
