Solved Facebook Connect

Post by Mikielabdullah September 22nd 2013, 2:05 am

Hello, Having some problems.

I set up my facebook connect on our website. It allows us to log into facebook, ID and Code is all in the admin panel for the configuration.

However, once logging into the facebook connect, the forum is not logged into. instead, the pop up window just gives facebook page.

Note: we are using PHB3, and an error code pops up

An error occurred. Please try again later.

No, I dont think so. The entire log in process works. The problem is that it will not log-into the forums when logged into face book itself.
in short, the set up of the facebook module, is nothing more then a redirected link to log into face book, Its not integrating to the website.

Did you associate your two accounts?  Everyone before you activated Facebook Connect will need to associate their accounts.

Profile > Preferences
Associate Account With Facebook Account

Also you do have a Facebook app?

If it is a new member, he/she will not have to associate the two accounts (forum and Facebook). But if he/she was a member before you activated Facebook Connect, they will have to associate the two accounts.

Make sure at facebook where your APPS page is you have the URL of your forum placed in the apps you are using for the login. The URL to your forum must be in the APPS at facebook.

Also if you havent done so already, check the page at: AP>>Modules>>Facebook connect>Configuration

and make sure under "options" you have the "Activate automatic login" ticked to "Yes".

The url to your forum goes in the facebook apps. If none of that works I suggest you read this topic:

I want to let you guys know if found the problem. Please please, take note of this, burn it in your heads, so if others ask, you know.

Sandbox mode, is an option with in the app on facebook itself, after adding the URL to the redict, you need to turn off sandbox (Developer only testing/access) Mode.

This causes the app to go live, and stops with the "try again later error".
