In order to help us, could you please provide:
- Url of your forum
- Ads displayed on PC, on tablet, on mobile (android, apple,...)
- Image location (copy and then past here)
Thanks for your patience.
Regards
Additional information to be provided in case of redirections
1. Open Google Chrome and clean the cache and history.
2. Open a new tab.
3. Inspect the item, go into Network and verify that Record netwok log is active.
4. Fill in the URL http://toto.forumactif.org/h125- and validate to load the page content.
5. All page requests are saved in Network tab.
6. If a forced redirection has not occurred, click Clear and try again.
7. If a forced redirection has occurred, right-click any log line > Copy > Copy all as HAR.
8. Paste into a text file and joint it tou your post in this topic
Note: This can be used in case of redirection on PC as on mobile or tablet. The only difference is that you can not do the indicated operations on mobile devices. So you must simulate a mobile device on Chrome via Toogle Device ToolBar and start from step 4.

on the mobile version a really annoying ad tells the users that they have surfed too much porn and have a virus while sounding like a fire-alarm, please tell me that this is not something forumotion wants to encourage in ads.
Edit: it looks like this:

Re: [ONLY TOPIC] Ads redirection (Mobile & PC)
I am having a similar problem with my forum ungendered.forumotion.co.uk.
I see this thread was started in January and has not been resolved. I do not feel comfortable asking people to join a forum where they are redirected to spam websites against their wishes. I have spent a lot of time invested in my forumotion forum, I will be very disappointed if I have to cease using forumotion because of this problem.

Re: [ONLY TOPIC] Ads redirection (Mobile & PC)
I'm afraid I'm not able to get an image location for the ad, as the user who encountered the redirect was not able to save it. I'm also a little unclear on what you mean by the 'link location' and how it differs from the 'final link,' could you clarify that for me? Apologies for not having the correct format in my previous post and for my confusion.
Re: [ONLY TOPIC] Ads redirection (Mobile & PC)
Link location is the link to the ad before clicking it I believe, you can get it by right clicking and hitting 'copy link location', look at Buttercup's screenshots in the first post for more info. The final link destination might be helpful as well, so you guys can keep giving us that still.

Thanks very much, I'll try and see if my users can provide that.
Re: [ONLY TOPIC] Ads redirection (Mobile & PC)
User says the redirect happens too quickly to be able to get link location and image location. Especially since it is unpredictable when they will encounter the redirecting ads, it seems unrealistic that they will be able to get that information in most cases. Is there anything else we can do to get this problem resolved?
Re: [ONLY TOPIC] Ads redirection (Mobile & PC)
Tell your user to try looking at the ads displayed on the forum every time he views a page on the forum, when a re direct happens, try to catch a glimpse of it each time to see if it is the same ad, then if you spot it again, you can take screenshots and try to get the location as well if it doesnt cause a re direct.

This is becoming a nuisance, members are getting re-directed to other pages, or they are constantly getting the "Flash Player is ready to install" page? It's really becoming a problem, which is frustrating the members.

Re: [ONLY TOPIC] Ads redirection (Mobile & PC)
The ad redirection also became an anoying problem on our forum a few days ago http://daekspark.danskforum.net . I have a very strong suspicion that it came together with the registration of a new user on the forum named "AntonGirdlesto". I'm very sure this new unknown user profile have no actual interest in the things the regular users share on our little forum. Hackers seems to have found an open backdoor into the forumotion sites.
Re: [ONLY TOPIC] Ads redirection (Mobile & PC)
Hello,
Just to be clear this ad re direction problem has nothing to do with hacking even remotelly. Forumotion forums are secure, the only way for a forum to be hacked is for a hacker to hack an account, such as the founder account or an admin account etc by somehow managing to guess the password.
The user who registered on your forum either is just a regular user or maybe just a spambot or spammer. Users register that dont post or become active all the time, that does not mean it is a hacker.
Anyway, as far as this issue with ad re direction. We have no new update or news on this currently. If you experience this problem. Please provide us with the information asked for in the original post, because without all of that info, the techs and our ad provider can not correct the problem.

Re: [ONLY TOPIC] Ads redirection (Mobile & PC)
^ Sounds like a malvertisement; This is why people use ad blockers, because the ads these days are completely deceptive and out of control. I usually block ads on Forumotion, because I got tired of these redirections whenever I clicked something on some Forumotion forums. Forumotion needs to do a serious review of their ad services for the safety and satisfaction of their clients. It's sad that these days ANYONE would sell out their clients to malicious advertisers, just to make a few extra bucks.
Re: [ONLY TOPIC] Ads redirection (Mobile & PC)
Sorry "hacker" may be the wrong name, I have only very basic knowledge about it and computers. I just tried to say there seems to be a connection between this new user on our forum and the redirections. It's a little "secret" forum with very few users that all know each other from the real world. This is the first unknown user on the forum and he activated the profile one evening. Early the next morning I had a user complaining that he got redirected twice to ads in a locked window when he tried to make a new post in the forum. The new "user" hasn't been loged-in since he activated his profile that evening.
