no Chatbox

We had a chatbox on our forum and it was working great, now it is showing blank. Is it no longer available

Who you you get your internet from ?

it maybe something to do with them and not us what i need to do is look to see who else is with BT that have the same problem. if we do then i could work on that side of things but right now we are not sure why as all the settings are set right and other members can see your chatbox fine with no problems as i can also.

we will keep working on this to see what we come up with.

Hi , I can access the chatbox on my husband's laptop so don't think it is BT.

ok then it has something to do with your computer i think you need to run a full scan on it and and make sure you have no bugs also run a Anti-malware scan on your computer.
I use spybot it is free and really good

ok will do another one, I do a weekly scan

some times things still get in your computer and a basic scan will not do it you need to run a complete scan of all your files all temp files should be cleaned aswell.

done a full scan and also ran spybot, logged back in to the forum and still the same. Is there another forum I can check out to see if I can see the chatbox?

Did you log in with the test account ? and its in the toolbar at the top of the page .

The chat box on the forum you listed is not a forum chat box its a plugin shout box that's why you see it

its not run by the same system as ours.

I still think if you can see it on your hubbies computer and not on yours its got something to do with your computer if you can't even see mine aswell

Try:
Try and do a restore of your computer to say 5 weeks or more and see if that fixes your problem.
other then that i can not help you any more on here as it is not a problem our side.

it could be your java is turned off on your browsers

What browser are you using? It sounds like either a browser problem or a computer problem to me. It is more likely a computer though since it works on your husband's laptop.

Has the forumotion chatbox on your site ever worked your computer? If so, when did it start not appearing?

What operating system does your computer run on as well? Have you installed all the latest updates on your computer?

Sorry to ask so many questions at once, but knowing all this could help us better understand and figure out what is causing problem and help us narrow down the possible causes of the problem.

Right now, based on what I have read in this topic, I am pretty sure it is either some sort of browser issue or pc issue.

I am more then sure it's got to be something wrong with the computer
my advice is to get it looked at or run a system restore on it and set it back to before you had the problem.

other than that we can not help you as it is 100% not our systems that is making this a problem for you.

My computer is only 1 year old, the chat box hasn't been working for a few months. I did a system restore a few months back. A few members can see the chat box now, I will just make do with the posts, they will have to pm me if they need anything. Thanks for all of your help.
