Solved Unable to make any changes to member profiles

Post by jkh April 14th 2018, 9:56 am

I cannot make any changes to any of my members information in their profile, such as:-

Unable to make any changes to member profiles 141

I also cannot remove an offensive avatar or signature. I can no longer even delete a user account.

Usually the member's password is shown by a series of big black dots, but now there is nothing so obviously I cannot save the change.

Or I get my own email address overlaying theirs - brandon_g told me this was to do with my 'saved log-in' option in my Security settings, but if I uncheck that then the password dots disappear so either way I cannot make or save any changes.  :/

Hello,

I do not think the black are supposed to be there. The password field should be blank, unless you are changing the password. Or atleast it is for me: Unable to make any changes to member profiles Screen16 .

Doing as I said should allow you to make changes.

Unable to make any changes to member profiles 614

This is what I see ^^^ big black dots for password and my username over their email address.

So I get a message saying the email address is incorrect (I can't see it anyway) or that I need to reenter the password (which I obviously don't know).

Do you use a feature in your browser to save usernames and passwords?  If yes, you will need to turn it off while you are doing what you want to profiles in the AP.

Yes you are saving a username and password of your own account on your browser's
What this dose is looks for the systems that lets you save your password and username and the Email address.

Now everytime it finds  the word Username,  Email address, Password, system tools on that one forum address it will automatically enter the info needed for your site.

Now to stop this you need to remove the saved password and username from your browser then the boxes will just show the Email address of the member and the rest of the boxes will be blank, then you can edit the boxes as you so wish.

See this thread for more info:
