Post by Ali Nasser Tue 2 Jun - 21:06

Hello,

I connected an external domain and am now faced with a message saying "This domain has expired and is pending renewal or deletion." everytime I go to visit my domain

And it just shows a directory of forums and a button to go to my original forum address

Any solution to this?

screenshots below
also my domain name page has a weird "days left" error

Hello,

Was the domain purchased outside of Forumotion? If so, you will need to renew it through whatever domain registrar you purchased the domain name through.

Would you be able to provide for me a screenshot of what this part of the admin panel says:

Admin Panel-->General-->Forum-->Forum Address-->Personalized Domain Name

Also bare in mind that it can take a couple days in some cases for domains to propagate.

Try clicking force the redirection and see if it helps.

Just tried it and it now when I click "forum address" it automatically goes to that website directory page so I can't access the forum address section anymore now...

Disable the option again. You may need to contact support for where you bought the domain because either there is a problem on their end or the cname is set up wrong. In either case they can help you better then we can I think.

I just checked with them.
Is it possible to just disconnect my domain again from my forum and I just buy another domain using the forum tools?

I don't think so unless you buy a whole different domain, unless you get the company you got the domain from to refund you and release the domain it will be registered for a year with them.

You can do it  yourself.  Just remove it from the AP.  Also delete the record form where you got the domain name.

The problem with that is that I can't do it in my AP.

This is what I see in my AP.

Hello,

The team just solved the issue, it should be OK now. Can you confirm please?

The domain was well acquired by the team but it simply lacked a last step to make everything functional.
