Unable To Get Moderator Access For Member
Hello
I have tried to copy exactly what I have done on my other sites, however I am unable to set Moderator status for a member.
I am not sure where I have made the errors
Even though I have made the member a Global Moderator when they access their section they are still unable to post in their allocated section.
This is for my oldest site Arkcapsandvideos which I have been reorganising over the past couple of months.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Regards
Cassini

Good afternoon!
Check access rights in Permissions Control to all forums (also in Advanced Mode).
I'll also leave a link to the tutorial. Check if you have done everything correctly.

Publish a link to the forum, please.
Do other users have the button displayed?
Also say, the user can go to the following address:
[FORUM ADDRESS]/post?f=1&mode=newtopic
The number is the forum section number. Enter any.

Here is the link
https://arkcapsandvideos.forummotion.com/f1-austria-news-and-sport
I am unable to answer that question, the only thing I can say is that I only want the Moderator and Admin to post in this section, it is open to members to view and also post at the moment.

Hi @cassini .
To add your member as a Mod,
when your members name comes up click on Permissions Tab >> Scroll down the page to the place you want the member to become a mod in and tick the box (Moderator status) once you have marked all of them to what you want click SAVE
Now that member is a mod of the chosen forums
To add your member as a Mod,
ACP >> Users & Groups >> Users >> Users management in the type box type the name of the member and then press OK >>
when your members name comes up click on Permissions Tab >> Scroll down the page to the place you want the member to become a mod in and tick the box (Moderator status) once you have marked all of them to what you want click SAVE
Now that member is a mod of the chosen forums
Re: Unable To Get Moderator Access For Member
Sorry Ape, I have done all that most of the day and duplicated what I have got on my other forums.
However this board does not seem to allow it for some reason, even though I have made sure I have done everything correctly.
The user has access to the board however they cannot post unless I make them Admin

Re: Unable To Get Moderator Access For Member
Hello @cassini,
Can you provide us a screenshot of the permissions for the section you want to be staff only? I have provided an example of what I mean in the screenshot below.
Under the 'View And Read' and 'Write And Reply' section you want only the groups you want to be able to see the forum as well posted to it ticked. So if you want only moderators and administrators to see it, then only the boxes for 'Moderators' + 'Administrators' (which can't be unticked anyway) should be ticked. All others should be unticked. Then you should have a section that can not only be posted to by only Mods + Admins, but also people in those groups would be the only ones able to see the section.
