Possible to give Admin Panel access to multiple Groups?
Hello,
I'd like to have two different groups be allowed to have admin panel access. The administrator group ofc, and one other group - who wouldn't have the color and group title that's displayed for administrators. Is this possible?
If not, is it possible to "default" or display a certain group's color display over another's on the site? For instance, I am the owner of my forums and would like a separate color/group distinction from the other admins in the administrative group.
Thank you in advance for anyone who takes the time to help!

Re: Possible to give Admin Panel access to multiple Groups?
Hi,
From what I'm aware you can't have two administration groups with the same access to the panel but here's a small trick on how to achieve this:
1. Go to your ACP (Administration Control Panel) >> Users & Groups >> Click on the Administration Group
2. Change the group status to hidden
3. Now create a dummy group with the same title of rank, permissions and color of your preference.
4. Now only add the group members who were in the Original Administration Group there.
5. Therefore, you can grant administration permission to users without adding them into the Administration Group by adding them into the hidden administration group without changing the users color and rank title.
New Administrators will be added in both groups from now on.
Best Regards,
Sir Chivas.

You can't have more than 1 Founder Account (/u1) but Admin special rights are shareable to many users, we called them Administrators
Re: Possible to give Admin Panel access to multiple Groups?
also one more thing about the administrator group, only the founder has access to the full administration pane...there are things that only the founder can see like the templates, credits management, and some other options
Re: Possible to give Admin Panel access to multiple Groups?
Thank you for the quick replies everyone. I'll try asking in another way.
I am the Founder. I want my own designated group/coloring/title that distinguishes such - and have it be separate from the coloring/title/group of my Adminstrators (the red star group that has my founder admin account + others I've promoted to admin in it)
BUT I still want them to be administrators and have access to the admin panel to approve new accounts etc. - I don't want to demote them to make my Founder account by itself in the red starred adminstrative group in order to make my account have its own color/title/group.
Basically what I want is to have my Founder Account's group display on the site "Founder" or "Owner" in Gold coloring. And my Admins group to display "Admin" in Red coloring while still retaining access and permissions to their version of the Control Panel as if they are in the red-starred adminstrative group. Even if there's a way to make a group color hierarchy be arranged/displayed? I think thats what Sir Chivas was getting at
I hope that makes more sense.

Good afternoon!
The method that @Sir Chivas suggested will work perfectly for you.
Or did you misunderstand something?

Sir Chivas method will work perfectly like @Razor12345 mentioned, you only have to create an extra group called Founder and put yourself as the only one in it and give it the color you want and put it in the grouporder underneath the Administrator- and/or Moderator group.

You can achieve this by following the steps I mentioned above.
Change the title of the Starred Administration Group and the group status. This will make it act as a granting accessing to the administrative control panel. Just keep in mind that they do not have full access to the ACP like the founder account does.
In the end it should look like this:
You can create your own rank title and designate them to the each individual.

Re: Possible to give Admin Panel access to multiple Groups?
Thank you so much for that Sir Chivas its exactly what I needed!
Only other thing I had a question on, is there an easy way to copy one group's permissions to another group's? Or do I need to go down each Forum Category and update what that group can view/edit/post/reply etc. Basically I want to transfer the original Admin group permissions into the dummy admin group permissions.

Unfortunately, you'd have to do that manually. Toggle away.
