Member wants all her posts removed from the forum
Is there a way for a member's posts to be removed from the forum without deleting them individually, given that there are almost 1,000 posts to find in various places??
I understand that just deleting their account won't remove the posts.

Thank you for your rapid response! Have you thought about being an ambulance driver?
It says you have to indicate the members name - where do I put that please?

Re: Member wants all her posts removed from the forum
@jkh you create the html page as described by the tutorial, then if you open the html page you will see a field to provide the info about the user

There is a limit I think, but don’t worry, i don’t think you will ever reach that number of html pages created
edit: FYI the limit is 500 html pages

With a new html page? Or by adding the same code to the one I've just created?
Re: Member wants all her posts removed from the forum
I just re-did it a second and third time only for it to remove a few more posts.
I'm not going to keep doing this as there's still 940 posts to remove, so the member in question said she's going to send in a complaint to Forumtion so that you'll do it.
That's good enough for me.

Hello
We do not delete posts from a forum unless the posts includes sensitive information
The member can unsubscribe from the forum

If you want I can register on your forum and try to understand why it is not working.
I may need to be elected as administrator (temporarily) in order to do the task.
Let me know if it's okay for you, and if so - I need the details of the user you want to remove the posts
Re: Member wants all her posts removed from the forum
Thanks skouliki, but unsubscribing doesn't remove their posts...only their username and avatar.
This member wants all their posts removed...but they could literally be anywhere on the forum!

Re: Member wants all her posts removed from the forum
Hi @jkh Just to be clear if a member asks you to remove all the post's on the forum you really don't have to. The only posts you must remove by law is the ones that have personal data on.
IE - Home address,
Phone numbers,
Email address,
Photo's of the member or family,
You can then delete the account of that member and the name on the account / posts will become Guest.
As long as the account is deleted on request and any data I have already said in the list you really don't need to remove everything else.

Ah ok, that's good to know...thanks @ape there's no personal info in any posts. I wouldn't allow that on the forum anyway

Hmmm....I've deleted her account now, so I guess there's nothing you can do about all her posts?

I confirm that now it is not possible to do it automatically with the tutorial resource.
Now the posts are no longer associated with an account, but are under the "Guest" username. Therefore you cannot retrieve me all at once.
Sadly, now there isn't any workflow that may allow you to delete the posts at once

I can't do it manually now though, cos there's no username attached them anymore.
I give up, if she complains to Forumotion then you know where to find me.

@jkh we are sorry, but deleting her account prevented to do the only workflow that could have make you delete all the posts at once - now there is nothing you can do You could have waited our support
In any case keep in mind what @Ape mentioned

Re: Member wants all her posts removed from the forum
If there is not any personal information associated with the user in the post (name, address, email, phone number, etc) then you are under no obligation to remove a post even if they ask you to. They made a conscious decision to write the posts on a public forum, so there is no expectation of privacy in terms of the content of the posts (unless there is personal information).
Bottom line: If you notice any posts with personal info then you should either remove the post or edit out the personal info (which is also sufficient legally), otherwise I wouldn't worry about it, you have done all you could for them.
